Model 60-4

Picked up my Model 60 - 4 a few years back. Got it in 98-99% condition at a local gun store. Traded a Glock 357 and $100 for it. I figure I have around $600 in it.

Interesting story on it, as I was completing the paperwork, the clerk removed it from the counter and said they couldn't sell it as it was stolen. They had run the serial number wrong when it was taken in. It took a few days to get it, but all worked out. The gun belonged to a man in another state. He passed and his wife couldn't find the gun and reported it stolen. A month or so later, it was found and she never notified the police. Her daughter wound up with it, didn't want it and sold it to the LGS.

All said and done, I was able to pick up this gem. One of my favorite carry guns. Added some Sambar Stag and it goes nicely with my Model 60 -9

Hi, have you checked your cylinder gap? I have 0,2 mm or ,0079" As far as I know ist this still "in spec" for a 60-4. Nevertheless the "blast" with our relatively hot european CIP .38 spec. is quite impressing compared to the tighter 2022 686.

Like most owners here my 60-4 is my most carried woods gun. It out shoots my rimfire J frames by a wide margin and carries just as easily. I've settled on a hand load of 4.7 grains of Unique with a 158 grain Speer swaged lead SWCHP which seems to meet all my 38 Special needs.

Depends on what brand and type of ammo your rimfire J-Frames prefer:
