Per Ammoseek today, 38 Long Colt is between $49.99-$60.00 per box of 50. No results for 41 Long Colt. Better off reloading for those.

Just checked one of the suppliers of the $7.50 box of 9mm. 2 box limit, shippinf by ground is $43...so $58 for 2 boxes....$0.58 per round.

I am lucky, as we have what I call a "Mom & Pop" gun store locally. They have been in business here about 40 years. They buy estates and used stuff over the counter. They have the ammo that you mention in the shop at various times. It is the last of these gun stores in our area. Hopefully it stays open for a ling time!

Maybe they are to you. To me, if I don't run out of stuff until I die or get tired of reloading it is like I don't have to worry about buying anything - I have enough. You might want to go to my estate sale.

I bet whoever is disposing of your estate will be charging all they can. At least I hope they will be, for the benefit of your heirs.

Actually, let me curse you - "May you outlive your reloading supplies". :)

I started hand loading because of cost savings. I cast/handload now so I always have access to ammo. The cost of having ammo is priceless.
It doesn’t matter how many guns you have if you can’t keep them fed…. 😉

The only thing I am cost averaging is primers. Powders from estates are averaging about 12.50 a pound and I have other powders and plenty of bullets 10s of thousands . recently I bought a 1000 Federal SPPs...just because and they cost 45 dollars...I was surprised as it was in an auction and all the other primers went higher by 15-25 dollars per M. Bullets occasionally, I get for cheap too. Recently bought 2 cases of Rem 158 gr SJHPs for for 220...sold one case for 240 dollars...each case was 2000 bullets...so I have 2000 free JHP bullets to shoot so.... you have to look for deals but there are many out there. I just traded a nice RCBS Jr press (paid 35) for 4 pounds of pistol powders and the fellow gave me a container of Blue Dot. with 14 ounces in it...and yep...it is all Blue Dot

Boy, I have yet to find ANYTHING reloading related at an estate sale. Very few locally are family run. The estate business companies sell all the good stuff to friends ahead of time. Only a couple have FFLs and when they advertise a gun it usually sells in the first 5 minutes.

Most estate saleshere are run by families. up in The Billings area it is different. most of the stuff I find locally is yard/garage sales. Gun auction somewhere this weekend...I may stay away

I DON"T REALLY CARE.........About the cost of my reloads.........I have always bought and stored components........Cast my bullets.......Poured my shot...........Kept ammo on hand........Back during the last perceived shortage and the shelves were empty........Mine were full............So the OP's post is mute and irrelavent to me.
