Picked up 4 LE trade in guns from NY. 2 of the 4 went to the NYPD equipment bureau. Wondering if you NY guys know when the Equip Bureau starting buying guns for officers to purchase and what all makes and models of revolvers were available over the years. RM Vivas any input?

Smith & Wesson 36-1 3" Blue SB Feb. 1973

Smith and Wesson 36 2" SB blue July 1967 to the NYPD Equipment Bureau
Hammer spur was broke so I reprofiled it until I pick up another hammer.

The Model 36-1 was a common revolver used by police in Finland in the 1970s and 1980s.

I don't know the exact history of this revolver.

The Model 36 below is a police officer's personal weapon from the time when police officers in Finland were allowed to carry their own weapons at work.

I always call that round silver wear mark in the finish The Silver Doughnut; classic mark from the Department off duty holster.

Give me the s/n's and I'll see what I have. The 3-inch is a tough find.

Best,
RM Vivas
