What's Highest Serial Number We have On Model 629 Pinned and Recessed Revolvers by barrel Length

Let's see who has the highest serial number by barrel length on the Model 629 that are pinned and recessed.

I'll go first

4 Inch Serial Number N83785x
6 inch Serial Number N74857x
8 3/8 inch Serial Number N83692x

629 P&Rs

Art--do you realize how close to what the book says is the lowest number your 6" is? The book says it's N748564--WOW. Maybe we ought look for the lowest number also, and put a bracket on it. Mine are 4" N873115, 6" N872528.

My 8 3/8 is N8740xx. If someone comes up with the same first 4 digits, I suppose we'll have to see who is willing to "drop trou", so to speak.

I don't know but Kamakeloa is getting pretty close,I checked 2-6" 629's in the for sale section, both are 629 no dash,R but no P and they are s/n 8815xx & 8825xx.

Double WOW as that makes my 6 inch only 15 units later then the first 6 inch 629.

Some time ago, S/N 629100 was listed for sale on one of the auctions, and I copied this image of the factory letter that went with the gun. You 629 guys might find it useful for the MANUFACTURED (not shipped) date of your 629 6-inch gun. Enjoy, Walt

I have #N8748xx which is a recessed, but not pinned, 4"!

N8755XX, 5-inch, shipped October 29, 1981. It must be near the end of the P&R revolvers, since jcelect's 629 is a transition gun with a slightly lower serial number.

My 629 6" P&R is S/N N83927X.Roy Jinks says late 80' or Early 81' that matches the N629100 letter pretty closely.That same letter talks about some 629's shipping out of the factory with serrated triggers by mistake.
S/N range N777750-N777900.Does anyone have one of these? P.S. It looks like Art may have the low S/N locked.
