A friend found a model 31-1 nickel that He thinks is new in the box. No cylinder turn line or carbon on the cylinder face. Didn't get the SN. The box is like new and has the wrapping paper and the tools. What color should the box be? Should the grips have the diamond around the screw? The guy is asking $600. Is this too much? Thank You for Your help. What tools should be there?

Is this too much? If you shop on GB or the other 2 sites as I do I think you might find this to be the going price or a bit of a deal. I happen to have a 2" nickel version saved in my search and after checking see it has a starting price of $650. I have been wanting to add one to my collection and an amazed at what all .32 caliber S&W revolvers are going for. Unfortunately it hasn't decreased my need to have one so I am sure it is just a matter of time. I think yours being a collectors version and also that it is nickel makes it a reasonable price and a sound investment. I am looking for a nice shooter grade so it would be a bit high for my needs. It's all relative in the end. Good Luck

The Model 30/31 seem to be gathering a following. They don’t make them anymore and they aren’t getting any cheaper. I just picked up a 31-1 4” barrel in excellent condition with box and papers for $600 so the price is in line with what I’m seeing.
What barrel length is the one you’re looking at?

the .32 Long when mated with small revolvers are being rediscovered. after decades of .38 spl this and that and such, many recoil sensitive people are preferring the same sized J frame gun with an addition round and still have center fire reliability to be a happy in-between.

I found this one at an LGS about 4 years ago and paid just over $600 including tax and DROS. That was a little high at the time but I'm glad I found it. It bears Belgian proofmarks and the European importer name WISCHO on the bottom of the barrel above the extractor rod.
