A Dan Smith &Wesson

Welcome to the Smith & Wesson Forums. Yes, that's a nice Dan Wesson Model 15-2. I have one too and it is a great shooter. This thread really needs to be moved to the "Fireams & Knives: Other Brands" forum.

NOPE.......It's Smith mdl 19 with a DW barrel and shroud.....Look at the frame where it meets the shroud...........Still......A nice gun.

The first handgun I bought was a Dan Wesson 6 inch heavy barrel vent rib.I was going to buy the pistol pack, but the Sheriff's Dept. I worked at did not like the cylinder release being in the front so I was not allowed to use carry it. I went with a 39-2 instead.

The cylinder release on the crane is different, but with practice, I don't think it was any slower to operate than a S&W, Colt, or Ruger once you get used to it. Reloading just required a little different technique.

I was kind of Leary for a few shoots, but it is a keeper, if only for a nostalgia piece. I bought it a flea market years age i know nothing about either Dan or Smith barrel threads? But I am curious. I know someone will let us know.
