Hi all,

I read in my manual that the allen key to remove the battery door screw on the bodyguard is a .050", however when I try that allen key it's not the right size (IIRC the allen key is too big) and thus I can't replace the battery for the laser.

So is there something about there about this screw being a different size or what have you found? I have tried two different 0.050 size allen keys.

Thanks.

I had the same problem. Called S&W and they will sent you a new one (mine was free). After I got it, I found the original.

Thru experience, I would suggest you check the tightness of the screw before each range session. Mine started backing out while qualifying and the screw sheared off, Thank goodness the screw didn't jam the gun and I was able to just pick what was left of the screw out with tweezers.

^^^ Thank you! I called and they are sending me a new wrench. I called S&W about 8 months ago and routed myself to customer service and got some crappy suggestion from the guy who took the call. He never mentioned it was a weird size or that they could send me a new allen wrench.
