I recently bought a 19-4 nickel that was minus one extractor alignment pin. Nobody had them, not Numrich, not S&W, nobody locally.
So I did some problem solving. The old one measured .055. I looked through my numbered drill bit set, and bit #54 was the right size.
After cutting with a Dremmel thin cut-off blade, some tip easing, and test fitting for length, I had replacements. I installed them with some blue Loc-tite. My only concern was I couldn't degrease the holes very well.
Also, it turned out that the old one was way too short. There is now much less play side to side.

Jack First Gun Parts used to still have some, and I believe Cylinder and Slide has them, but you have to call by phone.

Nothing wrong with making them yourself either. Very resourceful. Parts like this are getting pretty hard to find, and the situation will only get worse.

What was the procedure to install the pins? Same problem here however I did find the correct parts (pins) i needed.
