Default Spring kit for Taurus 942M ?

My wife just picked up her Taurus 942M in 22 WMR. The hammer and trigger are very heavy which is common for this revolver. I looked on Wolfes website but they don't list a spring kit for this revolver.
Question #1 will the spring kit for the other small frame Taurus revolvers work for the 942M?

Question #2 if they won't does anyone know where I can get springs that will?

Thank you all in advance!

I contacted Wolff Springs.
Replacing the springs are apparently not a good idea.

Mr. L.,

The springs listed for the Taurus small frame revolver will fit as the 942 is based off the 94/941 model. However we generally do not recommend our springs in the Taurus rimfire models due to ignition issue potential. Rimfires in general need a heavier strike from the hammer to have reliable ignition, and the mass of the hammer is on the lighter side. Our SKU 30151 would be the choice if you decide to go that route, but again ignition issues may pop up from changing the hammer spring. The aforementioned kit does come with two different light weight trigger springs which will help some to improve the action. Those springs will not have bearing on ignition.

Thank you

Sean Wolff

I had a small frame Taurus 22 lr with a real heavy DA trigger pull, I tried smoothing all the pivot and slide surfaces, a variety of springs, spring spacers and adjustments and then made a firing pin that was a bit longer. NOTHING I tried worked to get me a lighter DA pull that was reliable. Finally gave it to a brother who was fine using it as a single action.

It must be a slight difference in the hammer/trigger or spring to hammer pivot geometry than the S&W J or I frame because those are lighter and still reliable.

It's simple -- if you want your 942 to go bang, leave the springs alone. It is true, you can get a very nice trigger pull by trimming the springs or replacing them with lighter ones -- it's just that it won't shoot from then on...

Yep, leaving it alone seems to be the popular consensus. The more she uses the revolver the more used to it she is becoming. I offered her my Model 63 ND but she politely refused. (whew)
