    Front/rear Iron Sight Width?

I did look over the Dawson guidance, but I'm not sure they related the front sight width to the width of the notch. In any event the combination I'm trying is a big improvement over stock. I may find that an even wider rear sight would be a further improvement.

    Front/rear Iron Sight Width?

I just started to shoot IDPA and Steel Challenge with my M&P40. I'm an older shooter, 68, and wear progressive lenses. When I changed out the 40 sights for Dawson (black rear, FO front) I really debated on the front/rear post/notch width. The stock are .130/.140, respectively. I went with...

M&P22, Give Me The Good And The Bad

My wife and I both have M&P22s in addition to 9's and 40's. The 22s have been flawless. I did change the sights on mine and find a much prefer a fiber optic front sight. My only caveat, and this probably only applies if you own both 22 and 9/40/45, is that you need to be "gentle" inserting...

How satisfied are you with Froglube? (2014)

I've done an initial treatment on all of our M&Ps. At 2000 rounds on a few of the guns it still takes only 10 minutes to clean each (and that's taking my time). I expect the initial "expense" to last me 4 years or so and that's going to the range at least once/week.

    APEX ARMORERS BLOCK leave marks?

If you're concerned you can always put some electrical tape on the contact points, either on the handgun or on the block.

M&P22 - excessive rear sight adjustment?

Definitely going to do that at home. My initial adjustment was at the range and the allen "wrench" for the rear sight was a bit easier to handle The front is .050" and would be very easy to loose on a distressed wooden firing bench.

M&P22 - excessive rear sight adjustment?

I'm going to my wife's lesson this am and I'll ask the instructor to put a 10 rounds through my 22, but while my groups aren't 1" at 7 or 9 yards, I can shoot my wife's M&P22 and our M&P 9 and 40 pretty credibly; it's only my 22 that required this sort of sight adjustment. I certainly...

M&P22 - excessive rear sight adjustment?

My wife's M&P 22 is dead-on with the rear sight centered laterally. My M&P 22 requires that the rear sight be moved to the right just to the point where the dovetail is at the end of the cut in the slide. This was true with the stock sights and is also true with the Dawson sights that I just...

What specific M&P model holster works with M&P 22?

I have the pictured holster for my M&P 40fs. While I don't use it for my M&P22, the 22 seems to fit just fine.

Advice on how to achieve some specific trigger modifications

We have DCAEK in all four of our centerfire M&P (2-9mm and 2-.40cal) one of which had the old-style slide stop assembly. I didn't measure the travel before/after, but the reset is slightly shorter with the DCAEK and somewhat less pronounced. Reset noise is clearly overrated and I'd opt for the...

    M&P 22 Compact Announcement

Appears to be much closer to the centerfire M&Ps. I wonder if the backstrap can be R&R'ed? We will never see it in CA.

Adjusting windage on M&P22 rear sight

A sight pusher tool won't work on the 22 since once the set screw is loose the sight slides easily - no sight pusher tool required. Probably wouldn't be a good idea to use the tool with the set screw still partially engaged in the Al slide?

Adjusting windage on M&P22 rear sight

My rear sight, similar to the front, moves easily once the set screw is loosened (unlike our full-size M&P). Any ideas out there as to how I can move the sight laterally a given amount? In my case I probably have to move left on the order of 1.5mm since I'm 2.5" out laterally at 7 yards. I do...

I'm In CA. -What Happens If I Need To Warranty My M&P9? Not on Approved list anymore?

There are a few threads about that point to this scenario being a problem. A new firearm from S&W (with a new S/N) will need to go through an FFL. If the SKU is not on the roster can the FFL do the paperwork? A related question in my mind: what's the SKU of a bare handgun? The S&Ws on the...

    Confused Apex Trigger / Sights

I put the DCAEK in both of my wife's full-size M&P 9mm. The trigger pull is very close to 5 lbs. on each with the stock trigger spring. I'll keep track of the pull as we put rounds through the new parts before deciding whether to put in the Apex spring (or, more correctly, my wife will decide!).

Looking for a Slide release assembly for my M&P 9mm

The Speed Shooter Specialties component is the old style. That should work fine if you're replacing an old style component, but if your broken part is the new configuration you might notice a difference in trigger feel.

M&P 22 as cheap practice for M&P 40 full size?

I have both an M&P 40 and an M&P 22. I think the training value of using the 22 is a very individual thing, but if you're doing some shooting that consumes a lot of ammo (e.g., steel?) and you prefer 22lr, then at least you're using a handgun which has a very similar feel and similar sights...

    Trigger Grit Fix?

I just replaced the USB on my 40fs (part of DCAEK). The "hardest" part is finding a 1/16" hex that fits the set screw well enough. I used a soldering iron tip to heat the screw slightly to help with the red loctite. Although I had purchased a sight pusher, the sight didn't take much of a...

Crack in M&P frame? Pic inside

If you're in California move with alacrity. The 9mm drops off the roster in August and I don't believe you'll be able to get a replacement after expiration.

    M&P 9mm 10 rnd mag spring modification

It's very difficult to get the 10th round in. Using the loader is tricky on that last round since the loader's "tongue" takes up too much room in the stack. With 10 rounds loaded the mag needs a good smack when the slide is in battery to ensure that the mag is actually locked in place.
