Would the sear housing block likely be different then? Seems like there was a change in later 2013 which would also be absent in the CA model. If that's the case I'll put one on backorder. (Not that I know the difference from a functional standpoint)

Read the manual. I believe the callout is for a bit of oil in only a few locations: nothing about oil or grease directly on the slide.

Is the amount of compression representative of a normal cycle? It appears that the spring is almost bottomed out. I'm not a mechanical engineer, but I'm under the impression that a high quality spring in a partially compressed state (striker springs, I believe) will return to it's original length.

Snap caps or live rounds you need to b aggressive when racking the slide. I don't know which technique you're using, but I find it easier to rack using the over-hand grip versus slingshot. Which technique are you using?

Why not get 1000 rounds through the gun, read the 100's of threads on sights and triggers, get some instruction and then figure out what, if anything, makes sense.
