The NRA convention is this weekend in Charlotte NC. I wouldn't be surprised if they made their debut then.

I have a M&P 45 Midsize and I do not have that gap. Mine is about 1.5 years old. ser # MRL1###. The midsize model has the compact barrel and slide but the fullsize grip.

My guess would be the fouling from the shorter 38 specials is interfearing with the longer 357 mags. Some heavy scrubing or overnight soaking of the cylinder may be in order. Check the cylinders and see if there is a lot of fouling where a 38 special case would end. I have a 686+ with 4" barrel...
