Model 610 has a new home.

I have a couple of different sets of RB to SB that I run on my 610. I much prefer them over the RB. If I had to guess I would say they are Ahrends but don't quote me on that. Neiter set is marked except the lighter set has an "N" routered into the inside and marked with a number "41". bob

    Dillon press questions

I use a Inline Fabrication skylight on my 550. It sits in the toolhead and throws a very nice light down into the interior of the press. Very easy to eyeball your powder throw on every case. bob

You have a beautiful carry gun but what happens to it if you have to use it?

Glad to see this thread is still going. And a wide range of comments. I am firmly on the side of carry what you trust, is reliable, and you like to shoot. So, I carry my Ted Yost prepped Delta Elite nearly every day. It would suck to lose it, but if I have had to use it for it to get taken for...

    Mountain Lion defense ammo

Cats are fairly thin skinned so a 357 with any defensive ammo should work just fine. Of course the chance of you seeing the cat before he clamps down on your head is slim to none. It has been my experience, 3 cats, that when directly confronted they really don't want to have a lot to do with...

    Wanting to build a Model 58 .45 Colt....Any pointers?

My next big project will be taking a Model 58 and making it look like a PC13-4 on steroids, including the MagNa porting. I will leave as the .41 Mag though. bob

    Show-N-Tell - The Modified S&Ws

Here is a 25-5 that was worked over by Austin Behlert before I got it. Most of the guns I have seen of his always involved chopping the barrel. This one isn't. Other than the obvious action job (when you shoot it) there is some jeweling, ball/detent lockup, round butt conversion and it has been...

    M610 project

SmithNut, you sir have impeccable taste. 610-2 with a few mods including swapping the 3" barrel for a 4", also fluted the cylinder, ball/detent lockup, if you look close you can see where the front of the cylinder has been chamfered. I am much more fond of SB grips so it wears RB to SB...

    Bowling Pin Shooting

I know my 25-5 loaded with a 255gr hardcast SWC pushing about 900 ft/sec hits those pins with authority. :) bob

White Dye for Olive Gree sling

If you bleach a sling out I am not sure how white it would get, or how much integrity would be left. If you look on Amazon they have some white slings as cheap as 9.75. bob

Look like a cracked slide to you?

Just stop drill it and call it good. Works on airplanes, it should work on the slide. ;) bob

    Concealed versus open carry

So, is this your personal experience or just what you have heard happens local to you? I have been OC here in E. WA for more than a few years now and yet have to be on the receiving end of "police harassment". Maybe they understand the law as well as those who open carry do, who would have...

    Concealed versus open carry

I also find it a much more comfortable method of carry when compared to tossing a gun in my pocket or even inside my waistband. I think that covers most reasons people open carry. bob

    Concealed versus open carry

Why would you need any of those things if the presence of your openly carried firearm acted as a deterrent to bad things in the first place? bob

Didn't do much of a search on this topic, did you? Have fun with it. bob

    Dillon 550 Bell Crank Update

It looks like someone needs to give Dillon a call and ask what is what. ;) bob

    Dillon 550 Bell Crank Update

I will have to go down and play with mine, I am getting ready to load up 1k of 45, which is my new style, and see how it works. I don't recall it being "not smooth" though. bob

    Dillon 550 Bell Crank Update

Those aren't mine, just a couple I found that could be the cause for the hangups. If mine was doing that, the not smooth, I would be calling Dillon on Monday to discuss it with them. I have had nothing but stellar service from Dillon over the years. bob

    Dillon 550 Bell Crank Update

I have one one of the older style and one of the newer styles. They both seem to operate as well as the other. I have had no issues with the new style. Here's a couple of videos I found, I think as long as everything is aligned properly it should work just fine...

A Couple (Minor) Meaty Advantages To Wet Tumbling

I usually just pour it in a storm drain that has a picture of a fish on it. j/k Mine goes into the sewer system via the toilet or onto the ground next to my fence, probably not the most environmentally friendly but I am not going to save up contaminated water and then try to dispose of...

I just love my Ruger M77/22 Hornet

I love my Ruger M77 MKI chambered in 220 Swift. Probably a little much for urban pests but it works like a champ on rockchucks and 'yotes. I have never changed the scope, it still wears a Weaver K4W that just fits the gun perfect for the period (1976). Like you, I wish it was left handed also...
