    Question on a "perfect" gun - Model 27 in 3 1/2 inch

Do you or anyone have the story on the matte finish in the bottom left? Was that a refinish or some oddball?

    Need help identifying please!!!

100% shortened barrel. Finish is probably aftermarket, at least on the barrel. The Smith & Wesson is not in the right spot or size for the barrel length. Honestly, it looks like a FANTASTIC carry gun if you like .45 Colt. Keep it!!!

    A strange .357 magnum

Handmade AKs and various handguns are out there... soft metals, etc. risky to say the least.

I think this is a fair assessment. A 6 shot snub is nice and they is really just north of modern 5 shot j frames.

    A strange .357 magnum

Sorry to keep at it, but the checkering on the hammer spur is too coarse and the the screw sizes on the sight leaf are also wrong. ETA: And there should NOT be an S&W company mark on the left sideplate under the thumbpiece. See my Combat Magnum for comparison sake.

    A strange .357 magnum

Welcome to the Forum. First: I do NOT think that is a real Smith & Wesson barrel. The caliber marking is on the RIGHT side of the barrel on S&W revolvers (looking at it from a shooting grip) and Smith & Wesson is on the LEFT side. I wonder if the whole gun is a knockoff? Certainly nothing...

Value of a converted Victory Model

Exactly this. Good call. Maybe I can work him down in price, but I need to look at it again. I think the front sight was re done too. Was that a Cogswell and Harrison mod also? ETA: Still a 5" I think... Measuring time.

Value of a converted Victory Model

Ran into a S&W Victory model with Proof marks, re-marked 38 S&W CTG barrel, a re-bored cylinder and a "Converted by (some company, can't recall) in London England. Looks to be a WW2 made S&W sent to England. Finish is about 80-85% and the gun seems mechanically fine. 1: Is it a shooter...

WheelGunners tell me what you think of this 66-1???

Wild! I like it! I would not have gone quite so light on the trigger for a combat gun, but otherwise, slick!

    Question on a "perfect" gun - Model 27 in 3 1/2 inch

You ain't kidding. I may actually go to a gun show or two, to try and find someone who is not a GunBroker profiteer. I have not been to a show in YEARS, because of the herd.

Warm weather carry. Mod 10 *Now with Pic* *Stock Grip Pic*

My J carry is a 637, and the only holster I have for it is actually ankle. Not the best for quick situations, but it is so light I barely notice it and it is good for those "low intensity" areas. True pocket carry is hard for me, being a smallish guy. Pockets big enough to comfortable swallow...

Warm weather carry. Mod 10 *Now with Pic* *Stock Grip Pic*

I got a Bianchi Black Widow belt slide rig today for my round butt 2" model 10. Seems good so far...very pleased that the end of the barrel is only about a half inch below my belt. T shirts and other warm weather appropriate shirts cover it quite well". I am impressed. Pics will be...

    New trigger for Model 28?

I have done a few installs myself. I am pretty mechanically adept and have most of the right tools. Being that triggers themselves are getting to the $50-100 range, I decided to keep the labor money for myself.
