Mine is not discolored in any way. Did running patches through it help, or is it still there? Did you run a brush or barrel snake through it, or just patches?
I'm over 800 rounds, all but 100 rounds was cheap, dirty russian ammo. The only failure I've had was my fault for an improperly installed part, not the fault of the weapon. Once fixed it has continued to run flawlessly.
I couldnt agree more with the above sentiments. Grover has always been there to answer texts, phone calls, e-mails, etc. Even on the most potentially embarassing screw ups...he's a real gentleman (yeah, the gas block:confused:)
Thanks again buddy!
The tactical tolerance tools listed in JaPes link work wonders. I picked up both the CAT M4 and the Talon on his recommendation and they did wonders on my BCG. A little pricey, but they make the job so much easier.
As soon as you reach the point of..."I could probably swing it if", you know it's too late.
Been there, done that multiple times. I felt guilty for a minute or two, it generally passes quickly.
Nice choice, BTW.
Congrats on your new "baby". I remember that long wait. I have a bad habit of buying guns around holidays, where I actually have to wait an extra day (Sport; Christmas '11 and Sig P226; Memorial Day '12).
Enjoy.
I've noticed no increase in noise with mine, recoil is reduced as well.

Great guy to deal with, reaonably priced and will work up a design you're happy with.
Width is 2 & 5/16th of an inch wide, without rail covers.
I mounted my scope riser to the UTG and my upper receiver before tightening any allen screws (on the handgaurd) to better align the rails. They're perfect.
I have the UTG you asked about. Very simple installation, absolutely zero issues with it. It does not rattle, etc. I've had it on and off a few times while doing my gas block removal/conversion. Very reasonable price for a well made piece.
Had the same issue when I did mine. Re-align the gas block and spray rem-oil, or similar down the gas tube to see it flow through the block and into the barrel.
I'm with you on doubling up...
I used a 3/4" riser and have no trouble getting close to aim through the scope with the "ears" on.
I do most of my shooting through the scope and take the riser off when using the BUIS'.
I've always found this link helpful. Scroll about a third of the way down.
Hope it helps...good luck and would be interested in seeing pics of the finished product.
