    Just cancelled my 686 order

Ross. Have you checked with Cleaver in QLD? Alternatively Kathy Wilson has a brand new 6" in stock. Are you set on a 4" for 25yds service? I just bought a 4" 686 in excellent condition with a trigger job and moon clipped from cleaver for $649. Do you want it brand new? Because they pop up...

Removing or reducing unsightly laser engraving.

It reminds me of some guys who get some small and ugly tattoos that don't go well with each other and look dissociated and out of place. I think you have done good. I like engraved guns but they need to be well done. My grandfather had a very nicely engraved revolver that I saw only a couple...

    ? about buying a used model 10

Especially in Australia. Here police involved in shootout are very few and far between and they don't even get enough range time either.

Help me find out about a revolver I am thinking in buying please

I wanted the older one, but it was gone yesterday afternoon and I called at the end of the day. The other one was still there and the dealer actually tried in the morning for me. He said that it shoots fine with and without the moon clip. Well I am going to enjoy it anyway. Thanks.

Help me find out about a revolver I am thinking in buying please

Wonderful. So according to those dates they are a 686-6 for the 2004 model which is still the current variant and a 686-3 for the 1989 one. My 586-1 is a 1987 model so if it is in good shape I would probably try to get the second one to have two pre-locks. It is located closer to my place...

Love that pinto look. Is it a factory revolver or you got the parts to create the look?

Help me find out about a revolver I am thinking in buying please

The shop selling the first one are very good and have given me good deals in the past. Problem with getting it in my hands to try is the fact that the shop is 1 hour away if I catch a plane :p. The second one is about 2 hours drive away so not that easy to see in the flesh either. Market here...

Help me find out about a revolver I am thinking in buying please

Hello mate! Thanks for your help. You are right about the curvature of the first one. I had hopes it was a pre-lock. I am not too concerned about the MIM parts or the lock, but in the flesh the older smiths look nicer. Hence why I love my 586-1. We keep fighting for our rights as much as we...

Help me find out about a revolver I am thinking in buying please

Hello everyone. I am in the lookout for a 4" revolver to keep my 6" 586-1 company. I have found two possible candidates online and I need some help from someone with the standard catalogue to find some info about my prospective buy. Revolver number 1 is a 4" moonclipped 686. It is listed as in...

    Model 686 v. 1911

Next time I am in the USA I may come and visit. No high capacity magazines here either. Like in California we have a maximum of 10 rounds, which h in turn hurts our IPSC shooters who have a massive handicap when they go abroad and have to carry too many mags and have to reload more than the...

    Model 686 v. 1911

But what if you can only have a 1911 in 9mm? In Australia unless you have a high calibre licence, for which you need to be a member of a metallic silhouette club or a single action club, you are restricted to a maximum of .38 calibre. In saying that, I have a very nice 357 magnum revolver...
