New 586 no dash owner

John, Welcome to the Forum!! I don't know about that front sight. I do have a no dash 586 myself, and you should love shooting yours. Mine is a 4 incher from 6/1983. My most accurate 4". If you post your serial#, someone can give you a rough idea when it was from. Mine is ACH25xx. Enjoy your 586, and all the info you can pick up here! Bob

AUM5***, ive been able to place it around 86-87
ive shot a few of my 158grain swc .38 handloads in the back yard, and after figuring out where it shoots, i was able to shoot the cap off a water bottle at 25 yrds.
it does need some freshening up though. there is a bit of discoloration on the cover plate where the bluing is jacked up. it appears to may have been dropped/bumped on the rear site as the blade is slightly bent, barely noticeable.

Cool you have a target champion just like mine, but mine is a -1
