    Navy Contract Victory

I had a Victory Model I regret selling. I let it go because the lanyard loop was gone and the hole plugged. It had been commercially refinished with an odd looking bluing that had all but obliterated the property stamp and other markings. It still shot better than most guns I've owned and I wish...

    K-38 CM from'53

Beautiful guns. I also have a 5 screw .38 CM. It is my favorite revolver to shoot. Does anyone have a guess on shipping date? It's K1177**. I could only narrow it down to a range of 1951-1957. Just a shooter:

    Pre-15 with goodyears.

Congrats! They are great revolvers. I happened to run into the set of magnas that I put on the one posted in your other thread. I really like them with a grip adapter.

    Combat Masterpiece

Here are a couple of pics of mine (this is the worse of the two sides). I swapped out the rubber grips for a set of high horned diamond magnas and just put a BK grip adapter on it.

    Combat Masterpiece

I bought a five screw CM with Pachmeyer grips about 18 months ago I'd guess. I paid $250. It was a security guard gun and had healthy holster wear at the muzzle an on the cylinder, but is mechanically in wonderful shape. I'll post some photos when I can so you have an idea of the finish.

    It's a Pre-Model 10, but, is it correct?

I have a set of k-frame targets but it probably is more of a hassle to get them to you. You may find a gunsmith or LGS around you that has a bunch of old grips. Mine are newer (1980s vintage). I really prefer the magnas with a grip adapter. You might think about getting one of the BK adapters.

.38 M&P Offer - Deal or No Deal?

Mike, I realized the OP didn't give us much to go on, but my thoughts were along with what Todd said. I just figured anything in the condition the OP described would be worth that.

.38 M&P Offer - Deal or No Deal?

I'm a little surprised to see people say $250. Is this because it's a private sale? I'm guess I'm expect these to go for more because IMHO they are more desirable than the police trad-ins that are on the market for $250-300.

    Pawn Shop "Victory" Find

Very nice! My first S&W is a pawn shop Victory that I paid the same amount for a little over two years ago. Of course mine lacks any unique markings, was poorly refinished after the war, and had incorrect stocks. At the time I thought any functioning .38 spl k-frame S&W would be worth $250 as...

    Gun show find, Model 38

The grip adapter feels good. I really like the Centennials and Bodyguards because I can grip them high. The adapter helps with that and helps keep my middle finger from banging the trigger guard. I wanted a model 38 because my dad had one when he was in the sheriff's office in the 60's. I...

    Gun show find, Model 38

Congratulations, they are great guns. Mine is 2559xx. This thread made me take a quick picture of mine with my cell phone at work. It has a BK Grip Adapter on it. The holster is a cheap, but serviceable, Blackhawk pocket holster. It's loaded because I'm carrying it today.

    This old CM...

I have one made in '51. It is a joy to shoot and I would never sell it.

    k38 snub

FWIW, I saw a two inch fish hook hammer version tagged for $399 in my area earlier this year. It did not linger long in that dealer's cabinet.

    k38 snub

Are those stocks original? I would have thought the gun would have sharp shoulder magnas.

    K22 Combat Masterpiece

Nice K-22s. I would love to find one to go with my '51 K-38 Combat Masterpiece

Grip frame Screw on 1951 K frame?

Yep. And it looks like you have a nice Masterpiece there.

    1946 model 10

Sorry, my gun has the pre-war hammer block so I was curious if a transitional hammer would work in it. Is there a place to get pre-war style hammers for a k-frame?

    1946 model 10

Am I correct in assuming a hammer from a transitional gun will work in a pre-war gun, but not the other way around?

    New Too

I've lurked a bit and been amazed at the information I've been able to obtain about the few S&W firearms I own. I'm not a collector, just a shooter who likes great quality guns with character. My humble collection consists of 3 older guns (all pre-61) that are well worn, but in great working...

    1946 model 10

sw44spl, It's funny how this works. I just started lurking here this week and saw this thread this morning and decided to join. If you decide to get rid of the hammer you have, I'd be interested in taking it off your hands. I'm a big fan of the long action k-frames, and have wanted to convert...
