If you're looking for a single stack carry gun, you might look at a 908. You can find nice ones in that price range.

I picked up this slightly used 1911SC this summer. It's my 1st 1911.....I love it!! It came with 2 mags and no box for 700. Only have put 64 rounds thru it, but all have been without a hiccup. Think I'll get her out this week-end.....:)

With my 3913 for OWB, I use Don Hume's H721OT....works fine even with just a loose fitting shirt. For IWB, I use High Noon's Public Secret.

After removing rails, did you fill holes or just leave them? I picked up a High Noon Skin guard for mine(4513tsw), and am not impressed. Looks like, with the rail removed, it would fit my 5903 or 908 holsters. For now, it will just be my night stand drawer gun....maybe I'll find a nice light to...

Threaded barrel last month...DUR...300 rounds so far, no issues,(knocking on wood).....good stuff!!!

Got a chance to purchase a 1911 SC. I've only done a little research, but it looks like they have had some issues with the frames on these, is that true? Are these a desireable model, or is it something to stay away from? Thanks in advance for your replies!!

Kinda stiff at first, give it a couple of days, it will break in nicely. I'm sure you'll be as happy with it as I am with mine. I use the flat plate mag on my 908 for more concealment.

My 3 week old 'DUR' has no emblem either. Not a problem here, as long as we don't have any of the problems the earlier models have had. How does the saying go, 'function over form'? Can't see the emblem when I'm looking down the sights! Didn't buy it to look at.....bought it to shoot!!!

No 'N' on my 439.....but I do appreciate giving me a reason to get it out of the safe to look at it!!! Those nickel semi's sure are purdy.......
