    Question for reaming the cylinder to accept the .327 Magnum

    Hope I'm not too far off target but I've got a mod 30 70's gun great shape. But if I ream the cyl. to take the 32mag. or even the 327 is the pressure still in the safe zone. And is the cyl. long enough for the 327mag. I have no experience with the 327 Thanks

    Question regarding strain screw length

    Was having light strikes with my 66-2. Strain screw look like it was never touched but I ordered a new one anyway. It was 8 thousand longer than the one in the gun. I didn't think it was enough to make a difference. But it was no more light strikes.

    I have a 6inch I paid $150.00(1977)&4inch paid $250 (1997). Glad I never sold either. What I'm saying thats was what they were worth when I got them. If offered $580 for either they would not be sold.

    grips with matching serial #'s ?

    i don't know if this helps. I have a 30-1 that was originally stamped Mod. 36 then over stamped 30-1. I got a factory letter that it was shipped as a 30-1 on Oct. 20, 1970 as a 30-1. It has the grips number to the gun.

    1 have a 66-2/2.5". it s.n. is BAB4xxx can't find that prefix. looked in Standard Catalog of S&W. Can't find it. Any help would be app.reciated. thanks

    if icould onlt have two it would have to be my 66-2 2.5 &my 34-1 2". they will do everything i need.
