If the AR is Banned what is the top defensive rifle on your list ?

I would have no problem something to have on hand :) Plus I will increase my TACO ,Burrito and Beer in take and Gas all the liberals

Do people really consider the AR a "defensive rifle"? I can think of many other choices I'd grab first before an AR in a defensive situation.

An AR-15 can be used for defensive purposes, but I pretty much view any long gun as a PROACTIVE tool and think a handgun is infinitely more useful in the REACTIVE defense scenarios civilians are primarily involved in. I leave the voluntarily intervention and engagement to Police and Military.

We the People are a lot like my neighbor's bulldog. I visited recently and as we sat on the porch the old bull dog would occasionally G R O W L loudly. I asked the neighbor what he was upset about. He said " He's a settin on a nail". I said "well why doesn't he move?" The old man said "It ain't poken him hard enough yet". What will have to happen for "you" to do something?

Here's a few,

M14 / m1a 308 win
Saiga ak/ akm 223 / 308win
Swede Ljungman 6,5 swede
French 49/56 MAS 7,5 French
EGYPTIAN hakim 8mm Mauser

I don't own a ar15.

The only "rifle" I own is a really nice old bolt action 22Lr. As things are going downhill I am leaning towards picking up either a bolt rifle or lever gun chambered in .357Mag. I'm thinking this would do everything I'd call on it to do from being a game getter to an anti personnel weapon. Light enough to carry, accurate, and still having enough punch to take out a deer sized critter at 120 yards. Note; the woods I grew up around long shots were at 100 feet. I do not care for hunting over a bean/corn field, but to have a rifle capable of such a feat is still admirable in my book.

I have no plans to take up arms against lawful authority.

What exactly about banning the very type of gun useful for militia service do you think would make a government who would do such a thing a "lawful authority."

The founding fathers would have simply had such people shot for treason.

Snicker if you want, I think a Ruger 10/22 would be a good choice, if only for it's versatility.

Mini 14. Its the same ammo. Even before that a 12 ga.

The M1 Garand generally escapes most attempts to ban evil featured rifles. It has no pistol grip, no flash hider and does not even use detachable magazines.

It has been historically proven to work well in tight spots ranging from steamy jungles to a frozen Korean reservoir.

Hi Point 9mm carbine. I bought because it was cheap kept it because it works.
