Is my Walther obsolete just becasuse there's newer, lighter, more powerful guns now?

Been carrying a Walter PP .380 since 1972. Gun control is hitting what you intend to shoot be it critter or human varmit. Spray and pray of the high cap pistols goes against stats. The majority of defensive shootings are up close and personal and over in seconds.

After watching a utube where a shooters barrel blew off, I put up and extra large target. (Cause was incorrect seating/torque installing the barrel...

    I think I settled on a 1911

I agree with WVSig, check the field of entry's, or entrees, There is much to choose from. I might add that your first 1911 may well be the beginning of the end for you. You see, owning a 1911 is an addiction. I started with a Colt Combat Commander, worked it a bit to suit my taste, then had to...

"...if you could only keep one..." I'm finding out.

As I read this I think of my favorite 45 I purchased in the early 80's as a carry piece, or the .38 Colt Detective Special I purchased right out of the military as it was the gun assigned to me for my duty. Then I think of how I sold them. Then the article in one of the firearms magazines...
