    Model 19-3

I too love a beautiful gun that looks nearly new , S&W has done some wonderful work ,and examples have been posted here . After they are done with it , I would consider it a new gun . Still your dads gun , but no longer proudly wearing the badges of honor earned while nearly a part of your dad...

    Mayor Bloomberg "I like guns"

Maybe the Mayor will require newspapers or churches to demonstrate a "need" before they are allowed a 1st Amendment permit .

    Borderline personality Disorder?

You probably don't need to worry unless you taught her to shoot . You didn't did you ? Bought her a gun too ? Worry .

    What's wrong with my 19-3?

It could be gummed up old lubricants . I recommend letting a pro or even S&W handle it . I would . Especially after the first time I took a side plate off , thinking since I could rebuild any motorcycle , farm tractor , or cooko-clock , a simple hand gun should be nothing .

Collectors - how do you feel about ..

I don't understand commemoratives at all . Elmer Keith is a hero to many of us . Certainly the Texas Rangers deserve respect . But if I had either of those commemoratives , I would shoot them and pack them . I think a quality firearm should be fired and enjoyed . I will commemorate people and...

My new boring 27-2 - 6 incher (many pics)...

It is so boring . I think I will steal one of your pics to use as wallpaper . Might help to keep me calm and happy . IMHO the 27 is the aristocrat of S&W and yours looks like an especially nice one . I bet it will shoot as good as it looks .

Were 6" 27-2 not available with red ramp FS?

My 27-2 6" like every one I remember seeing had a had a patridge . In 1979 or so I sent it to Smith & Wesson and had them install RR and WO . A few years later it was stolen from a friend who felt he needed some protection . He also felt the need to leave the weapon in his house while he was...

Anyone give up carrying for a while?

I wouldn't carry all the time if I didn't think I might need my weapon anytime . I understand your situation . I used to fly on commercial air two round trips a week . Makes you reassess . That is healthy .. I bet you reassess again and start packing when you duties come back to normal ...

    Incomplete 1970’s Model 19-3

You are fortunate to have this weapon as an heirloom . You will enjoy learning about the model 19 and its place in shooting history . Bill Jordan , perhaps the man most associated with the Model 19 , wrote of his experiences in law enforcement and made demonstration films and lectures for...

    Deer Crossing

No . Utah officials have no sense of humor about the "accidental" taking of the States Royal deer . They are spring loaded in the ATF position . Always Think Forfeiture .

Missing gun What should I do?

I have had burglaries in my home and offices while I was traveling . I now the take extraordinary measures I should always have taken when traveling and sometimes involving what might be considered hiding my guns . I sometimes forget to retrieve , and think I have been hit again . Not...

    SHOULDER HOLSTER ??

I used one almost exclusively when I was to wearing a suit or a sport coat every day . I was carrying 4 and 6 inch N frames . I had a model 19 and never carried it concealed . I had some fairly decent leather ones made by a saddlemaker I knew . The synthetic materials I did not like , but I...
