One of the bigger bucks I've ever seen ran across the top of the practice range at the Winnequah gun club in Lodi WI.
It weren't deer season...

If they "Happened" to be standing behind my target would I be allowed to keep it? :)

Class III

No . Utah officials have no sense of humor about the "accidental" taking of the States Royal deer . They are spring loaded in the ATF position . Always Think Forfeiture .

I swear officer I didnt shoot it, it ran into my bullet, honest. :)

Just more proof that deer know when it's not deer season.

At our range, when shooting at 1000yds, Most of the time we had a family of deer come out of the woods and wait at the 800yd mound to cross. We would shoot at our targets and they would just stand there. Once we would finish our relay they would cross to the other side. The sound never bothered them.

Hi:
Many eons ago when I was a "Uncle Sams" employee, we were firing on the machine gun range when a group of Deer strolled across the range. The crews"Cease Fire" as we watched the Deer leisurely cross in front of the guns. Those Deer were very brave or not impressed by our marksmanship.

You're shooting high.

deer intermission

I know the feeling. I have a 100 yard handgun and .22 rifle range of sorts set up in my yard. Every now and then I think the gunfire almost attracts the deer. Just have to wait till they leave because they seem to have the right of way. I also have had wild turkeys come through here before the shooting starts. The range goes from beyond the left edge of the picture, across my driveway and off the right edge. We do love watching the though.
Peace,
gordon:):):)

My son shoots in the Pistol Nationals at Camp Perry, Ohio each summer.
He told me they close the line down, most often, for eagles flying across the range and boaters in the impact area on Lake Erie.
At least the eagles have a good excuse.
