Model 17-3 At My Club's Monthly Meeting

You did great! Beautiful 17. Betcha it shoots 0.5" grpups at 25 yards with the right ammo. Would make a great rabbit, small game revolver gun too with a good shoulder holster to pack it around.

Can I get a little holster help?

Bob sure did point you in the right direction. Excellent advice and you'd do well heeding it!

    Model 57, 4 inch, shipped December 1964

That's nothing but one great looking 57! Great revolver and round. I'm also looking for a hog leg 8 3/8" in nickel to finish off my five .41 mag collection. Had a 6" P&R that looked like that years ago. It's taken 45 deer and still going strong, but isn't pretty like that beautiful specimen of...

    Conceal your 6" revolver

You did your homework on that baby. Great set up and one heck of an accurate CC weapon.

    My 1st Model 27-2

Great gun you bought there and congrats! Beauty marks from the LEO packing it make the gun IMO. I'd be all over that nickel 27 at that price but blew my wad on a couple of rifles. I would take the grips off, wax the frame well and then wax the inside of the woodies if you put them on. They...

    M17-4 pick-up

Congrats! You did real good on that baby. Now you need a 2" or 4" model 34 to compliment the 17. I've been shooting alot of rimfires the last couple of years and love em. Good cheap fun thats improved shooting all of my calibers. Congrats on the 17. Have 2 -3's and they're both tackdrivers.

    Another .41

Have the same 657. Great revolver you landed there! They are very accurate for a snubbie, and a good investment. Congrats!

.45 ACP Revolver Picture Thread (All Models)

Wow! What a collection sir! Nice 25's everyone! I love the round and own 3 1911's and pack a Colt Commander. It's utterly accurate and so far has been 100% reliable as I had it worked over for function and reliability by my old friend J.D. Jones from SSK Industries. He does great work and if...

    66-3 3Inch

It WILL sell on an auction site for 1K and maybe more. Have a -2 and would not take 1500.00 for it. Paid 275.00 with shipping and FFL fees back in 85. Best handling revolver S&W has ever made IMO. Darn shame the prices soared on them as I use to carry it all the time back in 85-90 as its super...

    686 grips, who made 'em

Looks like a set of Altamonts made for S&W. My 3" 629 came with a set like that and drew blood within two cylinders. Work much better on a .357.

    Model 57 .41 Magnum Target

Best barrel length for hunting iMO. I'm up to 45 deer with my no dash 57. People are seeing what a .41 mag can do, which is everything a .44 can do with a little less recoil. Lots of great bullets out there for handloading and the round shoots flat, is inherently accurate and hits hard. I'm down...

    My new 15-3 questions

Congrats on that 15-3. A truly beautiful and classy revolver. I have a 2" snub and it is one accurate and handsome revolver. With that 4" barrel and some good ammo expect 2" groups at 25 yards sandbagged. Mine will do 3" groups from that range with ease. Bought it unfired but had to shoot it and...

    Grip Value

My money says Rollin has em. He always beats me to them combats:)!

Wood or rubber grips shooting magnums

Pacs full coverage for my .41's loaded hot. Less felt recoil and better grip than wood if they're wet from getting rained on, like every othe day in Alaska:). Wood for .357 and below and preferable Ahrends.

Need some advice 27-3 4" nickel

95% 27 at that price? I'd jump on it!
  16. Sportsterguy

    Grip Value

I'd recommend keeping them. The flat sided models feel better in the hand than the older round combats that are bringing more. If you see an old N frame set for sale on here they are snatched up quickly. Especially by a gent who ALWAYS beats me too them, and who's name is on this thread:). I've...

    S&W Bodyguard BG38 FAIL!!! Update

Sir, Sorry for your problem but I would never trust it again. The more I read on these newer model revolvers, the more problems I hear. Have my Mom's ancient model 36 that missing 30% of it's nickel with the firing pin and no IL and it's been going bang for 40+ years. I would and do trust my...

    3 inch model 19?

I'll second that! Never seen one for real in my life. It's revolvers like that cause me to keep buying them S&W's! Especialy K frame snubs and .41 magnums.
