    Tarnished Reloads

Yep and I use a wet tumbler to clean my brass. The brass comes out better than new. Tumbler I use is the old style rock tumbler with the tub full of water, 2 table spoons of dish water soap & stainless steel pins. I let it run for 2 hours or so then I rinse the cases or in this case 22 silencer...

    Trijicon Sights

You need a sight pusher, or a brass punch and hammer to drive the sight off the slide. If there is locktite, then throw the assembly in your toaster @ 450F then while hot press the sight off. Don't forget, add a piece of tape over the sight so the brass won't leave any marks.

    Model 10 ratchet ?

One likely way an extractor gets beat up is the hand is too long sticking thru the window. As you close the cylinder, the hand catches and drags on the ratchets. If your hand is sticking into the breach face, your gun needs to be repaired. Other way is careless cleaning with a metal cleaning...

    629-1 re barrel question

Only concern is the crush fit on the reinstall barrel threads may not be as tight as before. There is a chance it could loosen up under recoil. Make sure the frame doesn't get sprung. Make a brace for it then try it. It won't hurt anything otherwise. If it doesn't work, plan B is to send it in.

    Smith Lower/Timney Trigger.......HELP!!!!!

Your pins are fine, When you put your hammer in, lay the springs on top of the trigger set. That's what keeps them from sliding out. The tail of the trigger spring lays forward. The tail of the hammer spring lays on top of the trigger pin. Normal trigger pins have a knotch where the hammer...

    .380 bodyguard

I don't know about any shop but it's do-able to reduce the trigger pull some. The trigger springs need to be worked on. Another option is to have your wife dry fire it often. In doing so she will weaken the springs and more importantly it will strengthen her hand.

    Soaking Heavy Carbon Deposits?

It's baked on....bronze brush? I don't think soaking will hurt a thing, better dry it out well and lube everything before storage.

    S&W Gunsmithing prices!!

If you have a problem, then that's when I recommend extra work to be done, at the same time. Most updates to the gun won't change a thing in accuracy or performance. If you trade the gun after the work is done, you will likely lose all that money put into it. A nice trigger and chamfered...

Can lighter rebound spring cause lighter primer strikes?

If you put a light rebound spring in the gun, the trigger won't reset, normally. So to fix that you lighten the main spring and then the action is fixed, but now you got misfires with dents on your primers. It can happen if you lighten the main spring. A simple fix to strengthen the main...

New 629 cylinder frequent fails to rotate

The hand pin (that the spring is attached to) is bent in such a way it forces the hand to ride the slot differently. Right sing- bending of the pin is done while the parts are in the gun, lift up on the hand pin with screw driver. But if you must bend the pin down, the trigger needs to be...

New 629 cylinder frequent fails to rotate

Most likely the hand spring fell out. Only removing the side plate will prove it. In the faq there are pictures to aid you in putting it back inside the trigger. Or the hand alignment is totally mis-aligned, because the hand window is too wide etc (defect). Check the sing in the faq...

Yoke side to side play on a M&P

The front lockup doesn't do much. That's why they put that ball on the yoke then under recoil the ball holds the yoke in place. You see this on some 357s from years ago or today on the X frame. If the yoke barrel is under sized or worn, there is not much you can do but replace the yoke. When...
