    41 to 44 kick

I have had both but now just have the 657 7.5 inch. IMHO the 41 is more accurate and has about 20% less recoil when using factory-like ammunition. That said you can load them anywhere from mild to unpleasant. Brave Rifles

    Pulling stubborn handgun bullets

I've found that letting the bullet puller bounce instead of holding it tight works better. This was after pulling 100 light 32 S&W long loads that were just a little too light.

Inverted shoulder holster for 38-2 bodyguard

I've been looking for an inverted holster like the Berns-Martin for some time. The only thing I've found is one that holds two - one on each side. That would be fine except for the expense of buying another j frame. Any suggestions?

    model 657 front sight

My 657 came with the standard pinned black sight. I have trouble with it in subdued light like in the woods. Should I replace it with a fiber optic sight or a gold bead? If fiber optic - then which is best - orange, red or green? I realize that this probably has been answered before but...

    New To Me S&W 657-3 .41 Magnum

I too acquired a 657 right before Christmas in a trade for a Springfield Armory TRP 45 ACP. Mine is the 657-5 with the non-fluted cylinder and 7.5" barrel. It has the factory rubber grips which appear to be Hogue. These are too small for my hands. Are the Pachymar grips bigger? Mine was...

your 'run for your life' guns

Got to be my 1895 guide gun in 45/70 with +P+ loads and my 657. Though a flintlock might be best for long term solution. You can always make black powder and recast lead balls.

    S&W 25-5

I have a 25-5 with a serial number of N098xxx. A 452 hornady drops right through the cylinder. A Barnes triple x with a nominal diameter of .458 can be pushed through with a pencil. Accuracy is marginal but no keyholing with factory or reloads. What are my options for getting the cylinder...

    4" 32 caliber

I use the beginning loads for the 32 magnum in my 31-1 constantly. I use 2.4 grains of titegroup with the Hornady 90 grain LSWC. Accurate and peppy but supposed to be around 10,000 cup.

    Need some advice on ammo

Birdshot can be reliable as a stopper but not with a center of mass aim. It is much more effective as a once in the face and once in the crotch double tap. Even if he wants to continue the attack he can't find you.

    DOB M38-2

Can you help me with the date this revolver was made? Serial number is BRS1682. Serial number is the same on the but and behind the crane but style looks different from the M38-2 imprint.

    New (to me) Model 38-2

I just picked up a model 38-2, nickel finish, in good shape. Is it safe to fire limited amounts of plus P ammunition in this revolver?
