What do you guys think of the 2 new S&W 9 mm revolvers?

I'm not being argumentative, I am really interested. Is that true for sure? I shoot steel with .38 Specs in a 627, and have used moon clips and the Five Star Firearms speedloaders. I am not sure that I am not faster with the Five Stars because they hold the cartridges with a little less wobble.

    Aguila 60GR SSS functioned flawlessy

Gentlemen: Perhaps I could have saved some unnecessary fuss and feathers if I had taken time to preface my report with: " While it is common knowledge that 60GR rimfire bullets require a faster rate of twist than the 15-22 offers, I thought this upcoming pintop match at our club would be a...

    Aguila 60GR SSS functioned flawlessy

Bowling pin top rimfire match at 21 feet. The 15-22 sent them downrange every time and the pintops were taken off the table with authority. When I did my part.

    Steel Challenge with a 15-22?

I added a Weaver 1-3X20 Classic V (duplex crosshair) scope to my stock 15-22, and it's quite competitive at our club steel matches.

    686 vs. 686 ssr?

Seven and 8 shot revolvers are allowed in IDPA but may be loaded only with 6 rounds. "D. Be loaded to the division capacity of six (6) rounds in the cylinder. Seven (7) and eight (8) shot revolvers are permitted, but may only load six (6) rounds."...

    Model 317

The 317 is a great understudy for centerfire J-frames like the 340 PD. Lots of cheap .22 practice --------> good J-frame sight-picture/trigger control. If you can conquer the 317's DA trigger, your bigger J_frames will be a piece of cake. P.S. The 317 is a hoot to compete with in steel...

Front sight: confusing ears for center post.

Oh! *headslap* It was just that simple. Thankseversomuch. Not to derail my own thread, but your post just proved that all the tens, nay, even hundreds of thousands of soldiers, police, hunters and competitors using electronic/optical red dot sights on their AR's over the last twenty or so...

Front sight: confusing ears for center post.

I tried the Steel Challenge match again this past Sunday, in the iron sight .22 carbine division. Again, the shot timer had trouble 'hearing' my shots unless the SO held it over my shoulder above the ejection port. Problem partially solved. I had trouble quickly lining up on successive steel...

Shot timer couldn't hear CCI Green Tag

I tried the 15-22 A1-style Comp in a steel match Sunday but the rounds were so quiet, the RO's shot timer had trouble registering the shots. Switched to Federal bulk high speed HP and it seemed to cross the decibel threshold for the timer. Strange little glitch, eh?

    FTF's from gunsmithed 686 SSR

It required adjustment of the strain screw. The gunsmith and his staff were very helpful, friendly, courteous and kind, and the 686 is on its way back to me now at no additional expense. Exemplary customer service, and I'm happy.

    FTF's from gunsmithed 686 SSR

That was my request. I tried 36 rounds from another manufacturer last night before the Tuesday night match, no problems. So, of course, DURING the match ... anyway, now I know it happens with other ammo. Found my receipt, will be calling the 'smith this afternoon.

    FTF's from gunsmithed 686 SSR

The 'smith and I clearly communicated that this was to be a self defense gun, with IDPA and other competitions as training. DA trigger pull was to be improved only within the bounds of dependably firing any brand of ammo. I know, I need to contact him for help, but its quicker typing on...
