I'm geting a new 442 no lock this weekend and I wanna dress it up a little. I thought about a set of Craig Spegel Centennial stocks for my new pocket rocket.

Anybody use his Centennial stocks? Do you prefer smooth or checkered? Can I get a set for less than a C-note?

Let's see some pics! :D

I realy prefer the feel of the smooth Spegels but with the Airweights/Airlites the added grip texture of the checkering helps with the recoil..
Pardon the Glock in the Last Pic, It's RTF2 G19 bought Black Friday 2009

I put smooth Spegels on almost all my J-frames. The only checkered Spegels I have are some "Boot Plus" grips on my 624. I don't want the checkering eating on either my clothes or my flesh. The ones seen below are for sale. I put a set of CT LG-405 lasergrips on the 642 and gave it to my daughter-in-law, so I don't need the Spegels anymore. E-mail me if you are interested. (Yes, less than a C-note.)

PM sent. Thanks.

Glock 'em Down I hope you were able to score that set of Spegels offered above & they weren't scarfed before you could reply..
Good Luck in your Quest!!

Did you just want to see some Spegels or do they have to be J frame ones? Here's some N frame 'pocket rocket' Spegels on 325 NG.

I went with Eagles, rather than Spegels on my 442.

Well, I didn't get to send a PM before -db- said he would take 'em.

I sent a PM, but I haven't heard back from 38-44HD45 yet. So...we'll see! :D

Great pics, guys! Keep 'em coming! :)

I'm sorry about that. I didn't realize, while browsing the thread, that you were looking to buy. You, of course, are in line before me. I apologize for jumping the gun.

Hey Tom.

Nah! No worries, friend. I just heard from 38-44HD45...they are yours if you want 'em. :D

I was reading on Craig's website and he mentioned something about humidity causing grips to sometimes warp.

I live in dreary ol' humid enriched Oklahoma. We have damn near 100% humidity year round! I plan on putting these Spegels on my model 442 and carrying it exclusively in my pocket 7 DAYS A WEEK for long periods of time.

What will that type of carry along with Oklahoma's sultry climate do to these awesome stocks? Should I be worried?

Smooth hands down for pocket carry. Checkered is better for shooting but smooth is just fine for my 642's intended use. I can't shoot a J frame particularly well anyway but how good do you need to be at 10 feet?

I've been pocket carrying 642's with Spegels in $12.95 Uncle Mike's for years in Florida. No problems at all with the grips not holding up.

About the most miserable I've ever been from heat and humidity was at a big horse show in Tulsa in August of 1983. Temp. was about 98F, humidity about 95%, zero breeze. I know whereof you speak. Living out here in the semi-desert, humidity is rarely a problem, but I've never had any warpage of any of my Spegel grips. You might want to think about applying an extra coat or two of some good wax or oil-based wood finish to the inside surfaces of the grips, though.

…but for humidity (we don't have that in the AZ desert) I'd use resin stabilized:
