Do 75 meters if you can. This will produce a nice, flat battlesight putting you in the black out to 100 meters without a lot of hold under.

50 is next best and a very common distance at outdoor ranges.

25 to get on paper.

I don't shoot X-ring. First acceptable sight picture and send a round. If they're all in the 0-ring of an IDPA target they're effective shots. Cloverleaf group only means you're taking too much time to shoot.

Battlesight shooting: 90% in the 0-ring, 100% on the body. 50 yards. 100 rounds. 90 seconds including magazine changes. Offhand, unsupported. Winchester 333 bulk.

I do a 50m sight in. Chuck's right, anywhere on the body/center mass is a good shot. I use a mil dot and with that can produce c/m shots up to 200m using plain 'ol federal bulk 525's.

25 yd because that's the only distance I can find at a reasonable range ...

That said, my FIRST zero (on the way up) is at 25 yds, so it should be pretty darn equivalent to a "normal" 75 yd zero according to the ballistics I've seen

I voted 25yd for the same reasons as one stated, if its indoors it is likely limited to 25. But, my gun is reasonably accurate (on the body) at 25, 50, and 100 yds without further adjustment. Federal 550 bulk.

Reflex red-dot at 50m, red laser at 25m. I figure if I need to shoot anything "important" at greater distances I'll probably be using something a bit more significant than a 22LR ;)

I would say 50 yrds. Most .22 ammo will be 1.5-3" low at a hundred yards with this zero, which will serve you well for both battlesight zero and hunting the occasional varmint. Hopefully your 15-22 isn't your battle rifle.

Most of my plinking is within 50 yards, 75 max, so I sight in at 25 yards which puts me an inch high at 50 and back on at 75 yards. Definitely drops by 100 yards, but beyond 75 I generally go to a centerfire rifle.

Amen on it not being my battle rifle, but if that's all I have with me at the time...............

The trajectory chart helped me understand what my bullet was doing at different distances. If you sight in for 20 yds you will also be dead-on at 60 yds and should be within 1/2'' from 12 yds - 65yds.
