    Just bought a Model 29-5

Yep, it was the 240gr Blazer aluminum stuff. It's interesting to look at the data on the CCI site. It shows 1200fps and 767ft-lbs at the muzzle for a 6.5" barrel. In comparison, Federal American Eagle 240gr shows 1230fps and 806ft-lbs at the muzzle (no barrel length listed), so at least on...

    Just bought a Model 29-5

I got out to the range, but couldn't get a target set up due to the 5 foot snow drifts in places! I was able to put some rounds into the 50 yard backstop berm and could keep them in a 1 foot radius using some cheap 240gr Blazer ammo I got locally. It points nicely and the recoil is manageable...

    Just bought a Model 29-5

I plan on getting that done tonight. Yeah I have been looking for a model 29 for a few years, and I am a big fan of blued revolvers. I'm glad that search is over! I'm going to try to get a picture tomorrow with the other blued revolver I've owned for over 25 years - my .357 Colt Python, 6"...

    Just bought a Model 29-5

I know everyone needs a picture to make it real, so here it is. I picked it up earlier today: It barely looks used. I can't wait to go test it out - probably on Sunday.

    Just bought a Model 29-5

I did not know that about the throat spec on them and will keep that in mind. Thanks for the great information! The seller (who is my FFL) laughed when he saw I bought it. He was thinking at one point of buying it for himself because it is in such great shape, but he's happy that he'll now get...

    Just bought a Model 29-5

As the title says, I just bought a 29-5 Classic, 5" barrel. A FFL friend of mine took it in trade and put it up on gunbroker. Before I could buy it directly from him, it had bids. Well, I bid on it and won. (He'll be surprised when he checks that it's someone he knows!) I think it is a later...

Do you like gunbroker . com ??

I do the same thing. There's no instant gratification this way but you don't pay too high for a firearm. As a matter of fact, I just picked up a NIB Kimber tonight from my FFL that I bought on gunbroker for under his wholesale price.

    M&P .45 Compact

Does anyone have experience shooting it and a 357c? I have a 357c but might consider moving to a 45c since I already reload 45ACP (I have 2 1911 pistols). I'm curious if it has a similar grip feel and if its as "snappy" as the compact in 357 Sig.

The Most Famous Person You've Met

I've not met too many famous people, but I think I have a couple of different ones. When I was a kid I met Mickey Rooney and Malcolm X (not at the same time though!) As an adult I met Paul Newman at the Lime Rock racetrack. I've also met Donald Trump and designer Donna Karan (of DKNY clothing...

    Another Walmart went politically correct

My local Walmart has a 6 box limit, but when I was there the other day the only pistol rounds they had were 9mm. I've started buying mailorder when I can't find any local ammo.

Assualt Weapons Ban still in effect in Mass, a rant

Just one of the reasons I'd never live in Mass. Some of the laws they have there make no sense whatsoever.

    Thinking of buying an M&P

I'd second what Swabby said. I have a M&P 357c and a SA XDm-40 and I find the take-up much shorter on the M&P and the reset is faster. I found that it was faster to get comfortable with the M&P vs the XDm. One thing that differed between the two was the interchangeable backstraps - the M&P...

    ammo- how hard to find?

Around here, 380 is just about impossible to find; .357 Sig has become really hard to find too. The most common stuff to find here is 9mm and 40S&W. I did find about 250 rounds of 45Auto today by going to two local shops. For my .38, .357mag, .357sig and 45 needs I'm mostly mail ordering now.

    I don't think so scooter

The 750s are a single serving for me. If my fiancée drinks a 750, I end up getting half. :) I will have to keep an eye out for Abita Turbo Dog. We have a specialty beer seller near me that has all sorts of good stuff. As to the original post, as far as Bud goes, I'm not a big fan. I do pass a...

    I don't think so scooter

We don't worry about calories either; it's all about the taste. Duvel is my fiancée's favorite beer. I was able to get those 11.2 oz bottles (as in the picture) when I was in NY state, but here in NH I can't get them - just the 750ml bottles. :) We have some in the fridge right now. I also...

Very nice CBOB! That birds-eye really pops! I like Sarge's grips, and may have to pick up a set for my Valor.
