    Pachmayr pistol range box

I love mine, a little bulky by today's standards but it is a very useful tool. And how can you beat the "cool" factor?

    Opinions on the 649

I like the 649 pattern best in the J frames. With the right grips they're hard to beat. @ $350 it's a deal. Snag it, you can always make room for another. Dave

    66-1 2.5"

$700 seems a bit high for what you've described. You should be able to buy one under $600 today, just a few years ago I would have said don't pay more than $450 but times have changed. Last year I picked up a couple 19-2 2.5" guns similarly described for $500 & $550. Good luck in your search.

Which of these would you buy? A 19-4 or 66?

The answer is easy...Take them both!

Regarding the lock...I got over it!

I was parked in the "no-IL" camp until I decided to shoot ESR in IDPA matches, I bought a 625JM which is only available with the lock. The revolver has performed flawless.

Both mine are Horsehide in Black. The wait is a bit long but I really like the workmanship and style of this one. Dave

    A good solid pancake holster for a 2 1/2" model 19

My 2.5" 66 rides in a Kramer MSP holster. I find this package comfortable and the revolver is very secure. I liked it so much I bought another for my N Frame 3 inch guns too. Dave

Why are S&W so much smoother than others?

I've had a couple Pythons and a Colt Agent but sold or traded them away, why?Because my 4" 686 no dash has a far better trigger than any Colt i've handled. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing as sexy in shooting as a 4" vented barrel on top of a bright blue or nickel Python but when it came to...

    S&W model 66 no dash

Buy it, shoot it, enjoy it. The 2.5" is a nice piece. The fact it appears new in the box makes it that much better.
