Which of these would you buy? A 19-4 or 66?

If you had to choose between a 4" Nickel 19-4 (1980) or a 4" 66 not sure about a dash (1975) in satin SS which would you take if they were both like new and cost the same?

Voted for the 66 as I'm partial to stainless guns. I love my 2.5" 66.

Now, with it in the collection I'd probably go for the nickel 19 instead.

If you're a heavy user as opposed to a collector get the 66. It'll keep looking good far longer with that use than a nickel 19. All things being equal I'd find a way to get both.

It is hard to beat a model 66.

I'm another who prefers Stainless. If you want a nickle like finish you just give it a full polish. Granted the color won't be an exact match but it's close enough and you can shoot the snot out of it and re-polish it when it starts to look a bit worn. As for Nickle, IMO that's a finish that only lasts with a Safe Queen, while it's very pretty when new it ages much too quickly with hard use.

I have had both. I like the 66 better. I have 2 -2's one 4 and one 2 1/2 inch and I'm not done.

Can't resist a mod.19, and judging from that picture I'm either not collecting fast enough or haven't been at it long enough.

I would choose the 66.

One advantage off the bat is that the 66 is stainless so it is easier to take care of. The other advantage is that although glossy nickel finish looks very nice it can be a pain when shooting in the daylight. The nickel with reflect the sunlight and make it more difficult to shoot because of the glare from the reflection on the glossy nickel. The Satin Stainless is a mute shade and without much glare. On sunny days you don't as much of a glare problem as the nickel finish.
