    Shield 45 AWFUL GRIPS

In an SD situation I would rather have more than 5 rounds. Texture that is too rough would be way back on my list of concerns.

9mm Performance Center Ported Shield vs Non ported Shield recoil help!

There is always a difference in muzzle flip with a ported pistol vs a non ported pistol of the same model. This can be measured from still frames in motion photography. The degree of flip decreases with a decrease in muzzle energy. 9mm is pretty tame compared to 357 magnum. The shooter may be...

    Is the 40 S&W dieing?

I have both and shoot both frequently. I dont understand how an experienced active shooter can't be equally effective with both calibers. Having read about both calibers extensively, I can not be pursueded that the 9mm will perform the same as the 40cal. It may, but i have seen no proof. You...

M&P9 CORE MRDS: Viper, Deltapoint, RMR?

I think the price point on the Vortex Venom is pretty good at today's prices. Overall I think the red dot prices are insanely high. It kind of reminds me of pharmaceutical companies. Right now China makes junk optics but the day will come......

Going to put a sledge hammer to my M&P Shield

I go to the range, sit on a chair at a bench, and rest my gun on a sand bag. That works for me and it should give you a reasonably accurate picture of where your gun is aiming.

    M&P9C or Glock 19?

For me the choice would be M&P 9c or Glock 26. You are not looking for a full sized gun. The Glock 26 is lighter and more concealable. If the Choice was between the M&P 9c or a Glock 19, I would would choose the M&P 9c. The ergos are much better with M&P for my hand. I don't like the grip on the...

I shoot my Shield better than my G17

This is not my experience. I can shoot both the Glock 26,27, and 17 better than my shield. I got rid of my Glock 17, not because of accuracy but because of the way it fit my hand. The baby Glocks are a dream for me, especially with the xgrip. My M&P COREs stand above them all for accuracy.

M&P Shield 9mm Light Primer Strikes

I am glad it worked out for you. I had a Ruger sr40c that had a problem with light primer strikes and I sent it back to Ruger . I got it back and it continued to have the same problem. I sent it back a second time and when they sent it back with all new internals, I didn't even test it, I traded...

    PM 9mm

I have a 9mm core with porting, and after comparing it with my non ported 40cal core, I don't see enough difference between them to justify porting. The porting on the 9mm does look trick however. Small gun I wouldn't bother because they aren't range guns. I have a PM9 and I can't imagine...

    My M&P9C for Home Defense.

I like the idea of a gun with a safety for a night stand gun. I have been awakened suddenly from a deep sleep and didn't have all my wits about me. That happened a lot when working rotating shift and the alarm went off. I didn't know what time it was or why the alarm was going off. Bad idea to...

    Deltapoint Pro on CORE Pistols

What the heck, kudos for using your problem solving skills and for getting it to work! Probably about half the people here don't care about, or want co-witnessing.

Looking at a used 40 pro 5", what to look for?

The most important thing I would look for is overall condition. If it looks like it has been dragged behind a car, I would pass.

Got the 9mm Ported Shield today. Range report & compared to regular Shield

There is no shortage of experts or "what if" scenarios. If I paid attention to all of them I would be on a thorazine drip bottle. I could get a face full of hot gasses if my gun went off while picking my nose. Being prepared and always being aware of your circumstances and surroundings will do...

Got the 9mm Ported Shield today. Range report & compared to regular Shield

I believe the ports on the shield are not directed completely upward. At least on my M&P CORE they directed in a V shape. This is a change from most ported guns. It would not direct hot gasses directly upward towards the face unless you were holding the gun wonky.

M&P 9mm CORE Ported not firing

The trigger over travel stop is adjustable and you might back it off a bit to make sure it isn't engaging too soon.

Have the 40 Shield with the 9mm barrel....chance to buy a Shield 9

I agree with this. Muscle memory is everything. I remember a post on this forum that said, "anyone that says they shoot better with a .40cal than a 9mm is a liar." I shot mainly .40cal for 4 years straight. There is a point where you aren't even aware of recoil. When I occasionally shot 9mm I...

    40 Caliber Decision

It probably comes down to what fits your hand better. That answer can't always be determined until you shoot it. I have a Glock 27(40cal) gen 4 and that is very comfortable to shoot. Thinking that would apply to a Glock 17(9mm) gen4, I bought one. It felt good in the hand, but at the range it...

Happy with my new member 9mm C.O.R.E. Optic?

Based upon everything I have read about and studied, Trijicon RMR is as good as it gets at $600. However I have 2 Burris Fastfire ll. The reason was cost ($179) and the fact that they will co-witness, are well built, and will do everything I need to do. The downside is that they are a pain in...
