    645 or 4506?

It sounds like the 645 you had is the same as what I have now...

    645 or 4506?

That’s pretty much what I have; no box, not mint...and I intend to shoot and enjoy it. Thanks much!

    645 or 4506?

Thanks all. I appreciate the help.

    Any R8 enthusiasts on here?

Well, since mine is my bedside pistol, yeah, I think it’s safe to say I’m a fan. Pictured with my TRR6...

    .40 S&W Round

Actually, HK made the first pistol designed initially to be a .40, and wasn’t just a beefed up 9mm—the USP40. Arguably, the 229 could fit in there, but it’s primarily a beefed up 228. Later .40-first models would include the XDM and the M&P. I own a few—all HK’s, but the one I carry has a...

    645 or 4506?

Hoping I can get a little more information on a recent acquisition... Found it on Armslist; basically, it was represented as a 4506 marked as a 645...the price was good for either model, so I decided to get it, particularly since I’ve always wanted one of these big Smith .45’s. Spent last...

Found a 12-2...to carry or not to carry...

I bought it to carry--and that's what I do intend to do with it... Thanks for the advice, all.

Found a 12-2...to carry or not to carry...

Picked this up at the MWCA gunshow yesterday...Model 12-2, 2" barrel--tight action, hardly a turn line... Serial number points it to 1974. I actually bought it to carry, but...now I'm reconsidering; is the fragility of these overrated? It seems to me that it would be a great carry gun...

    Got a 681 in trade...

Thank you much. I figured that CAI would be a black hole; so...guess I'll have to decide which sounds better.

    Got a 681 in trade...

Yep; CAI, Georgia, VT...I know that's who imported it...but I guess I don't know where you're going from there; are you saying I should contact the importer and ask where it came from?

    Got a 681 in trade...

Traded a Philippine 1911 for this...681-1. I like it; haven't had a chance to get it to the range yet... I'm wondering, though--I know there's a bunch of Australian trade ins on the market right now; every one I;ve seen was pretty beat up, this one is in very good shape (not much of a turn...

    Let's talk Mountain Guns

I am very fond of my 629-5 Mountain Gun. In fact, it would be the very last handgun I would ever part with.

    Thunderbolt .22LR at LGS

$30/brick at one of my LGS's. I don't consider that out of line, considering the increase in ammo prices everywhere.

Father said it was nothing special.

I may be new here...but at the risk of being rather unpopular, I'm going to have to go against the tide and say that if he wants to sell it--he's doing it for the right reasons. It sounds like his father was a shooter, but the OP isn't--but wants to become one--which is, perhaps, something his...

BEST 38SPCL ROUND FOR MY 1954 CHIEFS 38SPCL?

I think that test was flawed on several levels. I've shot many living things with all kinds of bullets...and I've NEVER seen bone, even when just under the skin, clog a hollow point like that--real, living bone simply doesn't act like that. It shatters--not get cut out in neat little...

Any M&P Apex trigger kit "Black Friday" deals?

Brownells has one. Forward Set Polymer Trigger Kit : POLYMER ACTION ENHANCEMENT TRIGGER KIT FOR S&W M&P | Brownells 10% off using code EBH. (oops--just noticed that was only on orders of $149 and more...)

    Law Enforcement & The M&P

The issue sidearm as of a few few years ago for the Minneapolis PD is the M&P, in either 9 or .45 (I was surprised to see not .40). Not certain of the exact model.

    SW 10mm

I would concur with Doug M--there just isn't the market for a 10mm; they wouldn't recoup the costs to retool and make one. There hasn't been a new-design 10mm pistol out for at least 10-15 years that I'm aware of--all of the recent ones have been copies of other already existing 10mm's (1911's...

    Model 10?

I would like to get a set of original stocks for it. I'm going to be looking for stocks at gun shows around here; there are a couple of guys at the bigger shows that have entire tables of older S&W (and other) stocks...if not, I'll look down at Tulsa when I go in the spring.

My 1921 M&P with post-war stocks...thanks to all of the folks here who helped me figure out just what I had.
