I just received the Gen 2 front sight and when I put it on my 15-22 it does not fit tight it wobbles from side to side! I am assuming it should not do this??? anybody else have this issue?

Did you buy from a well known dealer/seller? There are a lot of fakes and air soft products out there. If you've installed it correctly and it's wobbles, then I would guess you did not get a real one.

Make sure you have the bolt that runs through the bottom of the sight perfectly "seated" between the two rails. Assuming you have a genuine Magpul product, it should tighten up nicely without any movement.

it wobbles with the bolt in multiple spots I tried to put it in. I bought it from a seller on Amazon and just filed for a return, I also just ordered another one, this time directly from Amazon. So hopefully this new one fits tight like the rear one does!

When you slide the sight on the rail, you should be able to look through the hole the bolt goes through. When you see nothing but daylight, it's properly positioned. Slide the bolt through and tighten it up.

My knockoff ones tighten up nicely. You must have gotten REAL bad ones. Is this on the original 15-22 polymer rail or an after market rail?

There are two different levels of the "knock off" versions. One is actually licensed by Magpul for airsoft and they are solid and more than functional on a 22. The other is just made from a factory in China at a much lower price point/quality and unlicensed. The problem is looking at packaging or pictures buying online you wouldn't know the difference, they even clone the packaging.

This has been covered a hundred times, even in the short time that I've been here, but (in my humble opinion) once you've had / used the real Magpul full version of these (not PTS, not knockoff), you'll know that they can be a precise sighting mechanism. The GEN2 version does sit lower, fold down tighter to the rail, and work better than any of the other versions mentioned above. And with all due respect, isn't Amazon just a glorified Ebay when it comes to stuff like this? If the seller selling through Amazon is a no-name company, who really knows if you're getting the sight you think you are? Buy them from a well-known Authorized Magpul dealer. God knows there are plenty of them. If you don't pay the full $$, you're just not getting the real version. There is a reason they cost more. For those of you using this with no other optic / red dot, this is the one part of your rifle that determines where your bullet goes. This is not an accessory...I say buy the good ones and don't look back.

No, the only Magpul PTS sights licensed by Magpul are those sold on their website. All others are cheap knock offs. Check Magpul' official website and the Magpul PTS website.
