Hey everyone, I just recently purchased the M&P 15-22 in NYS and opted for the fixed magazine because it allows me to have any other features available (mostly). If the law is ever repealed and/or changed to allow removeable magazines, or, I sell to someone in another state I figured this would be best.... However, loading is going to be a PITA. Is there any auto loading mechanism that anyone is aware of for this. I've seen many videos for the AR-15 type with this configuration but nothing in the .22lr category, or, this rifle specifically.

Thanks for any ideas you can share!

Isn't New York compliant a fixed stock and 10 round (max) capacity magazine? SMITH & WESSON M&P15-22 22LR NEW YORK STATE SAFE ACT LEGAL FEATURELESS RIFLE - DD's Ranch

Post a pic please.

I haven't picked it up yet because it's a special order but once I do (Friday?) I'll post a pic.

In NYS as I understand you can either have a fixed 10 round magazine and mostly any bells and whistles you want OR a removable magazine and all restrictions apply.

They actually order the gun "as-is" and once it arrives they fix the magazine in place (I think they do it here because I was charged for this service as an add-on) the videos I've seen mention using epoxy in/on the ejector button but the shop where I ordered it mentioned a different mechanism, which may be better, i.e., easier to remove in the future if things change.

I will have the adjustable stock, threaded barrel, and pistol grip
by doing this, which I'm hoping is a reasonable trade off for the extra difficulties. Although, I think this allowed modification actually makes the rifle less safe than with a removable magazine IMHO.
