[/B]Just wondering if anyone has mounted the new Sig Sauer Romeo 1 red dot on and M&P CORE.

ROMEO1

The red dot looks very promising to have with top mount battery and a channel cut on the unit so that it can co-witness and it does not have the back locking screws and more. They have a package that includes a plate for the CORE. Any thoughts.

I reached out to Sig below is the response. Great customer service. I have per-ordered the Vortex Viper
Vortex Optics - Viper Red Dot 6 MOA Dot

ROMEO1

But now i am going to cancel the order. As I think the Sig Romeo 1 is worth the extra money. I am going to compare both but I like the features of Sig the only thing I like more about the vortex is that you can actually turn it off and just use the iron sights. With the Sig I will have to just have to take out the battery.

Thanks for your interest in the ROMEO1 pistol sight. As long as you have suppressor (tall) sights on your M&P Core yes it would be a true co-witness. If you have standard (low) sights it likely will not fully co-witness. You also will need to use our SIG adaptor kit (plates).

Along the talk of the ROMEO1, look into our RX series when it becomes available (we hope first part of 2016). This is a great value because you can get an entire new pistol, installed R1 on a custom-milled slide, true co-witness at the price around what you may pay for competitor reflex sights and mounting kits. It is like getting the pistol for free!

Sorry, I meant to mention that in first reply. We anticipate to have the ROMEO1 adaptor kit sku’s available in late January. However, this may move as we get closer, but definitely our goal. As far as ordering, you should be able to pre-order with a local SIG dealer in your market; go to Dealers | Sig Sauer

R1 with Mounting Kit in Black #SOR11006

Yeah, you gotta love that lifetime "infinite" guarantee. We guarantee everything except the parts we don't guarantee.

How much? Must be a closely guarded secret because I can't find it on the linked site.

How big is the dot? 1MOA? Can't find this info either.

How long does the battery last?

I would expect these things to be easy to find; right on the first page. Maybe I just missed them?

What are you using this optic for . Speed matchs , fun?? Carry

If going to use for a uspsa match you might find even a 6moa dot is undersized . 9 to 12moa is used more often and some shooters have preferences what you use depending on the match like with 3 gun .

Remember a 6moa dot only covers 1.5" at 25 yards . That's a small dot at that's distance . I use a 2moa dot on revolvers I hunt with as shots can be 100 to 200 yards but our core runs a 9moa dot its none to large for fast short range shooting

hardluk1 : Thanks for the information. At this time I am going to be using it for fun at the range and home defense.
