Crimson Trace CTS-1500

I just purchased the Shield Plus with the Crimson Trace red dot CTS-1500. My problem is that I can’t find any information on this sight. Is this just a cheaper version put on the gun for a selling point? (Polymer instead of aluminum)
Can anyone tell me if the dot intensity is constant or does it have an ambient light sensor like the CTS-1550.

Have one that came with my XD-S. From what I've seen, it appears to be the OEM version of the 1550, but I could be wrong.

It does not have brightness adjustments and is supposed to have a light sensor, but to be honest, I think it doesn't get bright enough, and would probably replace it if I used the gun more.
