Anybody have an idea as to when we might see some 30 Super Carry ammo available? I've noticed that the local gun stores are starting to receive the Shield EZ 30SC but there is no ammo to be found. I'm on the "Please Notify" list with all the normal online ammo sellers and a search on GB only turned up one offer and that was $155 for 60 Federal HST ... no thank you. If ammo doesn't arrive soon these dealers are going to be pissed (if not already).

I’m interested to see if this new cartridge gains any traction. Time will tell...

Yes this will be an interesting historical footnote if no one can get ammo.

I figured it might appeal to new shooters where even 9mm recoil can be snappy out of a polymer framed subcompact. Us older gun nuts scoff until we get farther up the power scale, but there's no denying defensive guns are getting smaller and lighter all the time. Point is: these people don't have lots of any caliber much less one that was just introduced. Adopting a new caliber is always a consideration I have. So far I think I'm up to only 12 and none are particularly hard to get save .357SIG.

The same place all the Shield magazines were.

Now really isn't the time to be buying any pistols that use a new cartridge.

Might turn out to be an Edsel. You remember those don't you?

I am an FFL.
We got offered one of the pistols and that distributor also sold us 1 box of 50rds of FMJ ammo and 3 boxes (20rds) of HST ammo.. Not sure if I would have taken the gun if he didn't have ammo. We also decided that we would only sell one box of the HST without somebody buying the gun.

Are we talking about the new 32acp magnum or the 327 Fed. mag in a auto? I wonder if you can use 32acp In a 30 super carry.

Pretty close.
From what I've read it pretty much has a bullet the diameter of the 32acp, in a rimless case the length of a 9mm, and loaded to pressures higher than the 9mm. Kind of a 32acp magnum if you will.
I don't think it is likely that a semi-rimmed 32acp would work in the 30SC - any better than a .380acp in a 9mm pistol.
