The 3913 seems to have a much larger following than I imagined before becoming a member of this forum. Here is a photo of mine that I bought new around 1995. I got it when CCW became legal here in NC. My instructor said it shot better right out of the box than any pistol he had seen. I shot the highest score in my class.

I would like to hear how many others have a 3913 and please post any photos you have of yours.

I have a sort of junkyard 3913, which consists of a 3913 slide on a 908S frame. It works and shoots beautifully. I prefer the uncheckered 908S frame with just a strip of 3M tred tape for the grip.

While it is hardly a firearm for the purist, I have come to really enjoy shooting this S&W third-generation mashup. The 908S, with or without its 3913 slide, is certainly one of the most dependable firearms I have ever owned and has never malfunctioned. While often tempted to buy a "real" 3913, I've certainly come to appreciate this version of it.

I have one and like shooting it, but it NEVER felt right as a carry gun. I guess I like Glocks and revolvers too much.

The 3913 for me was very accurate and I could hit where I aimed, but it never felt quite right. The Grip angle somehow did not work for me even though I was accurate enough.

20 years as my ccw and counting.........like you I bought mine in the 90s when no one wanted them...........

Practical........ I felt the same; at first ...... if you still have it check out Hogue wood and/or rubber replacement grips..... world of difference...... more like an old 39.

I have 1 now and have owned as any as 4 at one time. These are the best CCW 9mm made...then and now. The Shield is the 1st CCW9 to give this a run for the money. That platform is very popular now as well. I have both and they are both great CCWs. They don't have the same features so you really cannot compare them 1 to 1.
My 3913 has a had the mag disconnect safety removed and is right hand decocker only. One thing I know for sure about the 3913 that I don't about the Shield. They are virtually indestructible and very accurate.

I only own the middle one right now. But had these three all at one time with the last year.

MY 3913 and 4513TSW...what a great pair!

I'm very fond of the Model 3913. Below is a photo of mine. I had two from 1992 so I sold one. The 3913 definitely has a strong following. ;)

From left to right, top to bottom: 3913TSW pre-rail (1999), 3913 w/factory night sights (1996), and 3913 (1992):

And, as for the accuracy of my 3913 pistols, I've been generally pleased . . . :D

Plenty of love for 'em here! I don't have a regular one but it is my next gun...I have been looking for a while and not found the right one but I will. I would actually prefer the 3914 but we will see. I have a 3913TSW pre-rail, a 6904 and a 6906 along with a Shorty 9...love 'em all.:)

Not much of a fan of the 3913

I bought a used S&W 908 and liked it a lot, so much that I bought a second one.

I sold my first 908 to a forum member and the second one to my brother. I then bought my first 3913. I did not like the 3913 compared to the 908. The 908 was slimmer and lighter. I swapped that 3913 to a member in Florida for a Glock 17. That was a good trade for me.

I later ran across another 3913 and snapped it up, thinking perhaps I had been too critical of the model. Not so, turns out I just do not like the model so much. It is heavy and thick.

Somewhere along the way, I swapped a nickel 39-2 for a 3953. This one I really like, slim and quick to get working due to the lack of a safety to fool with. This S&W DAO system is not so popular in my area, but I like it. I do wish it offered a repeat pull on the trigger.

I only have this one, too.

I got it late last year, box & docs, If its been fired I can't tell. I'd been wanting one forever, & I had a couple slip through my hands. When this one came along I was READY!:D:cool::D

I traded a 6906 for my 3913NL maybe 10 years ago...used it as my duty gun until the beginning of 2012. Easily the best semi I'd ever used up to that point. It was the reason I acquired a "rep" for my double-tap prowess on the pistol range at work! Believe me, it was 95% S&W/5% me. I swear, you just sorta point it in the right direction, and the way it handles, it does the rest.

Well, if you only have one, a Model 3913TSW pre-rail is a great one to have. ;)

I had a 3913 LadySmith with single-side safety and loved it. Absolutely adored it. One of my nieces loved it more though, and well, you know how you have to treat the girl-folk in the family. I had a 3953 like Colby Bruce's above. My other niece loved it and you know where this is going. So now I have a 908S and it's everything I could want in a 9mm. Unless I want more rounds and I tote a 6906. Or it's a beastly hot Texas summer and I wear a CS9 under as little clothing as the law allows. I know I'm well covered in any situation.
