I have done a litttle research here and still have questions. I recently bought a 1026 and it does not have the two dots. I will call Smith to check. What is the problem that can arise?
The frame mounted decocker can cause the gun to be inoperable. I sent a 1026 and 1076 back to S&W. Turn around was 1 week. They did not put the dots under the de-cock lever. Not sure why it may be at the discression of the smith.
