I want the new 10mm in 4 inch without optics and a front fiber optic sight for close bear encounters in Alaska. I will make it happen either way but I have hopes the Performance Center will offer it for Alaska travelers. When my life depends on it at close range charging bears red dot sights are useless to me.

Why not just add the additional 0.6" then and have that small bump in fps/ME? I assume you will be open carrying.
Agreed, whatever is available, snatch it regardless of configuration

Yes I'm contemplating 4 or 4.6 I just like the looks of the 4 better and the ease of carry. Glock does make nice 10mm I just sold my Glock today in order to get the new Smith because I like the Smith much more with its Stainless steel parts and my wet enviroment. I won't be in Alaska again at least until next summer.

Yep that's the plan but it would be nice to have it already done I have no sight tools. Should I wait and see if it happens with the Performance center?

If they release a PC version, it will likely be ported. You might want to wait until Shot Show in Jan to see if there are any announcements.

Buying a set of Dawson fiber optic sights would probably cost about the same as performance center version. And you wouldn't have to wait.

Installing sights is not hard if you have the right equipment, I am not sure what gunsmiths charge but it shouldn't be a huge fee.

Thanks! I can wait until the Shot Show if it doesn't happen I'll buy a good American made sight tool then sell it on Ebay after I change them out.

From the bear attack videos I've seen on Youtube I wouldn't be comfortable with anything smaller than the 500 magnum, but that's just me.

The one issue I have with this model is you have to use MP screws to secure say a delta point pro red dot. Since the screws can only handle 10" inch pounds I don't think it will hold up and eventually lose it's zero. Delta point pro recommends using their screws 25 inch pounds of torque.

Any recommendations for a good torque wrench?
Asking for some 460s that requested to be reliable sight wise.
Good gun, have a biscuit. :D
Thx
