15-22 FDE

Has anyone seen a M&P15-22 in Flat Dark Earth ? My local gun shop said they had one and sold first day. He's an honest guy, so I wouldn't call him a liar. But I go to some gun shows and have never seen one. Also I checked S&W site and there is no FDE. He said that everything is FDE thats normally Black.(everything that is polymer)

I have never seen one. Mabe its painted? I'm pretty sure if its not on the S&W site it doesn't exist. If I'm wrong I wanna see a model number haha.

He might be confused with the M&P AR15 or another AR15 with the MOE gear.
I never seen a 15-22 in any color but black, but have seen the MOE AR15's in Black, Olive, and Dark Earth.

I wanna paint mine dark earth or olive. I just don't have ambition to tear it down that far. I haven't seen one in other than black.

You dont need to tear it down "that" much! Pull the bolt and tape off inside of ejection port, tape off mag well, and tape off the bottom half of the upper, the upper half of the lower reciever, arround the trigger, and plug the barrel with something. I think that would be good enough for you to spray the whole thing down..not too bad. The miniscule (if any) overspray that gets into and tiny remaining cracks around safety and mag/bolt release buttons won't be enough to hurt anything. I'd call S&W and ask if painting ur gun would affect warranty though. Only other potential downside is mabe some paint might scuff of from scrapes and bumps during use...But that makes the gun look Boba Fett cool.

Are you sure they weren't referring to the M&P 15-22 Magpul Edition with FDE magpul parts? My local gun store always has at least one in stock and I've personally seem them remove them from the box, so I know they don't add anything. It's not a full FDE gun, but it's far different from the standard black.

I was thinking the same thing, maybe the MOE versions, but he said the polymer upper, lower, handguard, etc.

My local guy shop thought the same the thing - he knew he could get one.. He's thinking MP-15 MOE..

I ordered the black MOE and will just swap it all out for FDE and use the MOE stuff on an AK or something..
