15-22 in cali

Hey guys I'm moving out to twenty nine palms in march and I was looking at cali gun laws I saw only restrictions on centerfire nothing rimfire if anybody lives in Cali can you help me I don't want a fine or worst thanks

Kalifornia law explicitly exempts 22 rimfire from the assault rifle laws, BUT you do have to use 10 round magazines.

Of course, your 15-22 is going to come with a 10 round mag (same size as the normal capacity one but just pinned to hold 10 from the factory) but if you need more, order from Allied Armory:

I'm under the impression he is coming into California from out of State so he probably has 25 round mags, not 10 round. Thanks for the link to Allied Armory.

If you are wanting to buy one big 5 has them on sale all the time for 469.99. If you already have one and its not california compliant just pick up some 10 round mags and call it good

Put a magazine restricter in your existing mags and you should be good to go. Then buy the short ten rounders so you can have a bunch loaded up to shoot 10 at a time. Can you have high capacity at the range? Probly not in Kali.

I have not had an issue with my 25 rd mags at the range...yet...

This is a good time to ask a question that I have always wondered about. And that is, If a were to ever move to Ca, Ny, etc.( not gonna happen, just a what if) and I already owned a rifle that was fully registered in my name, and was a 25 round mag for a 15 22, 30 rounders for my .223's or the multiple 16 rounders for my Springfield XD's do I have to buy ALL new mags? Lastly, according to that states laws...what happens to the ones I already own? I pretty sure I wouldnt have to "turn them in", as they are considered illegal in that state, but If so that IS crap lol

No no, In Kentucky we have a person to person law. We can sale any firearm to another in state resident and its fully legal, and no paper work is needed. Gun stores, thats different, they are required to run checks on the potential buyer, 10 minutes later your walking out the door with your new weapon of choice. What I meant was, for example I bought the 15 22 new at the gun store. They peform a background check as usual, the gun and serial is registered in my name then. We dont "have" to register them, it just already is linked to me as Im the original owner and had the serial ran against my info. Also thanks Scuds for the link, however, in relation to my question it only says "Can a Ca. resident travel to buy a High cap mag", and can you import/replace parts of a legally obtained high cap mag. It doesnt mention if you move from where its legal to own to CA. At least thats how I take it. Could be wrong though.

"the gun and serial is registered in my name then" With who? I thought the purchase records were destroyed after a certain amount of time. Otherwise, that would be firearm registration. The ACLU should look into that.
