I have seen recently on the Academy sports and outdoors site that there is a 15-22 in green and it's only on that site, not the S&W site. Can someone tell me if this a counterfeit rifle or it's an exclusive original. They are selling it for $460, should I jump on it or let it go and get a MOE version for another hundred bucks?

According to the description, "the polymer stock is olive drab green"... which, to me would be the stock. Then again, it also says it holds 25 rounds. The image that is associated to the weapon must not be the actual rifle... because clearly there's a 10 round magazine in the well and it is all one color.

OD stock would look nice if u also put OD ladder Magpul rail covers on the rail. These would break up the black a bit more and IMO would look a little better.

It is genuine, and exclusive to Academy.

If I remember correctly it is the base model (un-threaded) so an extra $100 for the MOE is well worth it, especially if you intend to use a red dot or scope.

This? They have them at my local Academy. I saw one before Christmas. I'm thinking about getting another one.

Wow... it IS the entire frame... Funny that the image online is different and they only mention the stock as being OD green... which... IT ISN'T!! haha... I think it would be cool to put all FDE Magpul Furnature on.

AND it's PRE-colorized on the markings. Probably a little more durable than the crayons.

Wait, so is the stock black or green? Is the grip black or green? And is the barrel threaded? This is what they are advertising

Check out the thumbnail. That is what they look like. Just because there is a picture on a web site, doesn't mean they will always match up to the actual product.

The MOE version has QD sling swivels, which to me is worth the $100 right there. I do like the all green but with a pink camo, AGV camo and pistol, there's not much room left for another 15-22 in the vault...

That just means you need a bigger safe!;):D

Hey there, brand new to the forum and S&W's but I just ordered the all black MOE version for $440 shipped. I'm guessing that's a good price if you're expecting to pay over $500 for one. I am just hoping to find some ammo for it now

I have the "OD green" 15-22 from Acadamy. It has the threaded barrel. The quadrails, upper and lower receivers, and "buffer tube" are green. The barrel, stock, and hand grip are black. The engravings are done in white tactical crayon by S&W.( I re-colored the "safe" and "fire" in red/yellow) I thought the rifles color was an ugly shade of green (much brighter shade of green than pics show), so I painted my quadrail hand guard, upper receiver rail, and "buffer tube" all black and added some Magpul rail covers. My first picture sucks, but heres how it turned out. The second pic just shows Tacticool22's aluminum charging handle on the rifle.
