15-22 Parts list with part numbers

Just called S&W and ordered a couple of 15-22 firing pins, firing pin springs, and recoil springs. The firing pin part number has changed will post when I get my invoice. They were most helpful. Also ordered some K frame internal firing pins for $3.49 each along with the springs.

I have experienced light primer strikes, so will experiment with cutting the firing pin spring about an 1/8 to 3/16 and see if that helps.

Can you also put up the number for the blue bolt spring? unless you were talking about the firing pin coil spring..thanks

I'd like to add two part numbers:

Ejector, part # 404570000
Barrel Extension Rollpin, part # 404590000

I can confirm these part numbers, as all have been purchased over the last 6 months.

Extractor Rev M1 315430000
Extractor Spring Rev C1 315610000
Extractor Plunger MIM 406130000
Firing Pin Rev A 408170000
Firing Pin Spring Rev A 404770000
Recoil Spring Rev A 407790000
Ejector 404570000

I can't really tell for sure what the cost is for these. The way S&W does the invoice the price is not shown. You have to look at the credit card charges and they don't match the invoices half the time. They add a hold then it disappears and shows back up later. I still have items ordered for several months that haven't made it yet.

I think I'm having FTF with my slidefire because of a worn spring

I assume you are talking about the big spring on top of the bolt and bolt rails? If so, it is listed in the above post as a Recoil Spring Rev A. Is that what you are looking for?

loose SAFE switch

I replaced the pistol grip on my S&W M&P 15-22 with a MAGPUL grip. The two springs that the grip holds in place came out. I didn't know they were there. I reinstalled them with the MAGPUL grip.

Now the SAFE switch works loosely and the pin near it that moves to allow the upper and lower to separate is also loose. Were there other parts that came out when the springs came out? How do I fix this?

Any help will be most appreciated.

No, They are two much smaller springs. They fit into the lower receiver just to the rear of the trigger. The pistol grip holds them in place.

Thanks for replying.

Confused ??

jamessix, I did not reply to your question. The quote from me you have posted was to Dirsh concerning a post just above my post and it was referencing a recoil spring.

Try taking the grip off and make sure the springs didn't fold over or bind, and maybe try swapping positions with them. One of them doesn't have a hole in the grip, it just hits flush with the grip and compresses. I think I am correct on this but I haven't had one off in a good while.

Thanks MDF48. I apologize for not realizing that you were not replying to my message.

Thanks anyway,
JIm

Hey Jim,
I haven't taken my 15-22 apart, but in my full size AR, there are two little brass pieces that sit in front of the spring and actually come into contact with the safety and the take down pin. If you check out this picture, (http://www.brownells.com/userdocs/schematics/colt-lowerreceiver.gif) the brass pieces are numbers 11 and 21. Since the 15-22 doesn't have and buffer tube assembly, I believe they are both contained in the grip.

Hope this helps

Judging by the date of the last post, i presume that you've sorted this already.
There are two springs and two detents, one for the Safety selector and one for the rear takedown pin... both are needed.
Check youtube for grip swaps on 15-22. That should show you what parts you are missing/lost.

The S&W certified armorer I deal with can not get the part. His go to person say factory installation only.
Give them a call and see if they will send you one. The worst they can do is tell you no and send the rifle in.

Maybe they have different levels of training and my guy doesn't qualify to get one. (just thinking out loud)

don't need one yet as my rifle is new, but I like to be prepared and have parts on hand for future problems :), going to call this week and see where I get

Is the "s&w 404560000 barrel extension" the barrel collar that holds the ejector in place with 2 roll pins?

More specifically, if I order parts #s:
- S&w 405020000 b106 22 AR bbl threaded 16.5" rev A
- S&w 404570000 ejector
- s&w 404560000 barrel extension
- S&w 404590000 barrel extension rollpin (x2)

I should end up with everything I need to replace the barrel, correct?
