Does anybody shoot this cartridge? I have a Kimber Classic Varmint in 17 m2 and love this round. As much as I hate to admit it, I never use use a 22 lr for small game anymore.

I have two .17 mach II's; a Ruger 10/22 with Magnum Research Carbon barrel and a Sako Quad hunter. Both shoot very very well and are great squirrel and groundhog rifles.

Picked up a ruger 77/17 just before the hm2 came out.Great little rounds for small game and pests.Haven't fired a 22 since.

I also have a sako quad sporter. the 17 m2 is on the action way more than the others.

I have a CZ 452 Varmint. I can get 3/4" groups at 100 yds. If the wind is blowing 2-3" groups.

My favorite small game round. Have 2, a cz and a marlin. I read an article a while ago that if Hornady had come out with the mach II first, the HMR would have never caught on. The M2 is much more versitile while the hmr is overkill for small game and not enough for chucks and yotes at much distance.

Both good cartridges but here in the northeast rabbits and squirrels are about it so the mach 2 is all you need.
Cheaper ammo is another plus.
