I inherited a old S&W 1903 32 S&W long in fair shape. My dad was shooting the gun until he gave it to me a couple years ago. I noticed that the timing on two of the cylinders is a little off so I am thinking of sending it back to Smith to be checked out and repaired and maybe refinshed since it is no a family heirloom. Do you think that is a good idea or should I find a different gunsmith or leave it as is?

There are parts to be had, finding a local gunsmith may be hard to work on it. There are a few that will make it look new, you can try FORD's and someone else may have David's web site. I had to reboot my computer and lost alot of that stuff. I would keep it like it was when your Dad gave it to you, and put it away for your son or little girl. Plus - WELCOME to the forum
