A very good friend of mine is looking for a
complete slide for a 1911 frame without any slide that came from his father. It is marked
VEGA.

He is looking for something complete and functional that won't break the bank.

Any advise or sources would be very helpful.

Thank You

1911, 1911A1, civilian or military, who manufacturered the frame? You want a slide that is correct for the frame.

Service-just what I was hoping to find.
Thank you.

jag,it is a very early stainless frame.
I checked an old G.I. slide and barrel
and it seems good, athough the side is sloppy
like alot of the worn old ones are.

Really appreciate the help.

I recall seeing a GI Colt slide for sale on the Colt forum.

Good tip but really big $.

I have heard Sarco can be hit or miss.
I think for a GI level shooter the cheaper
probably Phillipine slide set will work.

Why is Marvel the "best" conversion?

Lost in Penn's Woods
With the Marvel, the slide and barrel ore locked in place, only a mid-section of the slide moves. They give an accuracy gurantee, but they will cost you.
